How many BCCI members have received the new Buildout sale list e-mail?

Got my pink ion with walnut and palmwood with serrated blade 110's and I'm very pleased. I didn't notice in the photos that Jeanine sent that both had red liners/spacers under the scales. Very nice touch. The walnut on my pink ion has some great burl to it. Thanks Buck.

The knives I ordered arrived this morning. I was very surprised to see that one with pink ionfusion (110BO14-B) had a partially serrated blade. It is not a big deal, but I do wonder how many were made with the serrated blade.

That is odd. The gold ion has a partially serrated blade. Perhaps they did a few in the pink as well?

Wow! I wish my pink Ion Fusion was partially serrated! Super cool. Pics?

I got my package today too. I got the 110 & 112 with buffalo bone and S30V steel. A small surprise, they charge me $7.50 for sending the package, instead of the $10 they said they would. Probably cause they like me so much.:)

He is a quick picture of them along with two 300 series knives that kind of match. I found out my style of collecting is called "Tommy Tenderfoot" collecting. (That was at the SMKW meeting.) Hey, it works for me.

Wanted to share some photos...I've never had a buffalo scaled knife before, I was missing out, this stuff is gorgeous!
My weak attempt at 'classy' photos like some of you are so good at...

Just got a new DSLR camera so please bear with me on the photos while I figure out all the bells and whistles. Here's some shots of my new pink ion and walnut 110 and the palmwood with serrated and Idaho stamped blade.

Great shots BH. That pink is LOUD and the walnut has a great deal of character. You got some well-chosen matching wood on that one.

The Palmwood with the serrated blade, red liner and finger grooves sure stands out from the crowd in a good way.

Both are interesting unique folders.

Congratulations on the new camera.

The inlay on the pink ion 110 does not look much like walnut.
There doesn't seem to be any grain in it. You can get a good look in 2TONYB'S pics.
Any thoughts?

I bought a few of them and the Walnut is really nice, but it is a Walnut burl, not regular grain Walnut.

Correct. Unfortunately I think it's beyond my ability with a camera to show this in a photo. Mine has really no "grain" structure but is all burl. Kind of one swirl like spot blending into another. If it was a lighter colored wood like some gold box elder burl I have on a couple of my Bark River knives you could see more of the detail given the light/dark contrast. On these it's harder to see since the lighter areas are still pretty dark in color.

On a side note I really like the red liner on both of the models I purchased. The way the liner is on the ends of the palm slabs looks great. The walnut only got the liner on the back side which I think looks better on that knife. Don't know if that represents some real thought on the part of Joe or others or if they just figured they didn't have enough of the liner material but that slight difference between the two models works for me.
