I love the sotckman patterns, But don;t use the spey much... still it's nice to have an extra really sharp blade if you need it.... I;m going to say 2 or 3 blades
I like 3-bladed stockman patterns, too. I try to find the ones with the pen instead of spey such as the Case xx32 or the older xx18 HE patterns. However, 2 blade jacks also work for me.
most of the time I prefer single blades , I don't prefer the way multi blade folders feel when using them. Tends to feel awkward with the other blades closed , unless the blade sit fairly deep into the handle and the spines of the blades are slightly rounded.
With that said , this lil Rem small 2 blade trapper is quickly growing on me
I carry a Case SS Peanut tucked in my wallet..... would prefer CV but I tend to forget it's there and it gets really hot in New Mexico... butt sweat and all! My EDC is a Mooremaker sowbelly stock knife with four blades and a punch..... I love this knife.. Two clips, one large and one small..... sheepsfoot, and a spey.
So my vote goes for either two or five
I tend to carry single blade slipjoints the most these days. After that I prefer 3 blade stockmans. For some reason I haven't ever carried two blade knives much, though I own a few.
I personally like the trapper two blade but am looking for a two blade that has a screwdriver cap lifter as one and a single knife blade. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
1-3 most of the time. Usually two blades. Jack's, canoes and barlows are good. This month I've been packing 4-blade congress though. Its exception to rule
I seem to gravitate toward 2 blade jacks myself. I do like single blade knives as well and have several, my latest being a Case sway back gent. I've tried to like the stockman pattern, but whittlers suit me a bit better for 3 bladed knives. Ed J
My favorite and most-carried pattern is a stockman. So, three blades usually. However, I'm also becoming more interested in 2-blade jacks, so those are OK too.
