Is buying knives from ebay and amazon much of a risk?

Do you guys put together name and shame sellers lists?

Do I need to mostly watch out for specific companys, i.e are there mainly repro kershaws etc.

Same for websites.

Or do you never worry?
or how do tell its fake?
Do you prefer paying the premium prices for reliable companys rather than taking the risk to start with.
etc

I wouldn't worry about anybody on eBay if they had over a certain amount of feedback that's over something like 98%. I wouldn't worry about steelhead151 either.

I have seen so many fakes on eBay it's not even funny. So that's not necessarily true.

The best way to avoid buying a fake is to be an educated consumer and also buy from reparable dealers.

I just bought one off Amazon but five minutes ago. Never have I had a problem with them with knives. I've only had one discrepency with Amazon, they sent me the wrong color Maxpedition Kodiak S type. It didn't bother me at all though because I liked the color I happened to get. If it had bothered me I'm sure they would have handled it perfectly.

Ebay-haven't bought anything off there in years, so no idea. Personally I would look elsewhere first.

Amazon if its shipped and sold by amazon they get it from the manufacturer, if its sold by someone else then anything is possible.

The best way to safe guard yourself from fakes is to arm yourself with knowledge.

Always extensively research the knives you wanna buy first.

The more you know about the knife the better off you'll be.

Its good to know amazon get real goods in. They can have good savings on stuff compared to others selling on there

Yea i buy alot of stuff from amazon, they are like the walmart of the online world, their return policy is great too and they are very understanding, i got a great deal on some sneakers from them last week, almost 50% less then everywhere else.
They sell alot of knives from the big brands.

Hey its worth a shot, Aslong as its shipped by amazon it wont be fake, and amazon restricts their shipping area so they wont ship illegal items to places where they are illegal.

the fakes are really good. I had a supplier that sold my buck 110 112 switchblades. I thought I was buying clones but when I got them they said buck USA right on the blade. I can not buy a regular buck for that price much less a switchblade one. I sold them local but I told the buyers I didnt belive they where real.

I personally lost 650 on counterfeits a couple years ago. After that, I joined BF and did my homework.

Your informations resourcefull people.
Thanks

Oh p.s

I hear about chinese made knives, are they all counterfeit or just naff in general as said on the internet.

Whats up with the chinese made ones?

there is a big difference between counterfeit and clone knifes. counterfeit are the ones with the name on it and are made really hard to tell that it is not made by that knife maker. clones I dont have a problem selling. they are just like the real ones but they dont have any name on them and just come in plain jane boxes.

So that makes it OK then, does it ?

some one is going to copie the very good knifes. the Micro-tech scarb clone OTF is going for $20.00 to $100.00. the real deal is $400.00+++ not every one can afford that. times are tuff. people are going to try to save money where they can.

All I can say is I find this hilarious for a number of reasons.
