how many fakes on the internet.

counterfeits yes clone should be no. but every one has there right to think the way they want to. I have the reals ones then right next to them I have the clones. I explain the clones are no way the same as the real ones but they keep buying the clones.

I wouldn't worry about anybody on eBay if they had over a certain amount of feedback that's over something like 98%. I wouldn't worry about steelhead151 either.

Some of the worst fakers on eBay have 100% or near-100% ratings - the guys who put together frankenknives out of parts and sell "civil war" knives. They are good at what they do, and ego guides us away from admitting even the possibility of being scammed.

Hang around the Bernard Levine forum here at BF to get an education.

Or don't worry. It's just money.

I'm confused, what makes counterfeits okay, but not clones?

Both are just undermining the knife industry and simply ripping people off, including the companies who have to do the initial research and development of the new designs.

not so much amazon but you got to really watch the "bay" with origin of shipping & manufacture.
i find it odd that mainland china can sell titanium products at 1/100 of what the usa sells it for
just seems fishy

We don't condone counterfeits or clones here.

I just went down to your exchange and I see some people selling the clones here but they are not nameing them by the clone names. I have the same knifes and instead of selling them for $$$ I sell them for $7.00 each. what is the deasl please??

The only time I had a problem with amazon was when I ordered a gayle bradley. The box and papers were for a gayle bradley but there was a tenacious in the box. I ordered it from "amazon warehouse deals" which I guess is what they use to sell items people returned. I told them the problem, shipped it back, and ordered another. The second one was new in box, sealed, everything correct and not a mark on it. Make sure you're buying from amazon as the seller and not some random person. I've bought everything from food to computer monitors on amazon. They have a great return policy.

That being said, depending on what kind of knives you want to buy there are a lot of great dealers here on BF. I order traditionals from collectorknives.net. Check out the list of dealers and their feedback.

It's bad for the knife industry and bad for US based companies and dealers. Junk counterfeit/clone knives give the real companies bad publicity. Imagine seeing what looks like a Spyderco, ZT, or Benchmade but really it's some piece of trash. People can get a bad impression even though the knife is a fake. That's obviously a minor concern compared to the amount of money getting sent overseas to unscrupulous chinese companies that do no research and development but instead copy others' hard work but put out shoddy, inferior counterfeits. They're unscrupulous enough to lie about what the product is, so do you really think you're getting titanium, D2, s30v, or whatever they're claiming it is? You're getting pot metal with a bad heat treatment.

If you want legitimate knife companies to stay in business, don't buy fakes.

but I tell these people that they in no way can compare them to the real deal. they seam just not give a dam.

but they are selling like hot cakes. I am just giving the people what they want to buy. I have been looking around on the auction sites and I see that there is a bunch of people or they could be companys that just sell the clones. I try to push the name brands at the gun and knife shows. it works there but on the net you can hang it up. they want the clones and they are willing to pay for them.

I am somewhat surprised that you portray yourself as a seller of what you call "clones" and seem to hope for positive reaction from the members here. Not likely to happen.

I sell the name brand ones. I also sell the clones ones too. not every one out there in the real world has several hundred dollars to spend on the nice switchblades. just like every one here on the board can't spend a lousy $25.00 for a gold membership to help out and support this site.

I dont care about your opinion. just look at your membership then look at mine. hey I dont do ebay. they will not let anyone sell switchblades on there site. besides there are way too many sites that are out there with no listing fees that want you to list your switchblades on there site.

That "lousy $25" doesn't make up for the money the knife companies are losing by people choosing to sell fakes/clones/counterfeits/garbage.

Arguing that because people can't afford something it's ok for them to buy a counterfeit/fake/clone/ripoff item is ridiculous. Copyright and design theft hurts American companies. Buy real or don't buy at all.

hey they are not putting any ones name on there knife. just look at bench made switchblades. the way I got told they where going to have them made in china. they showed them how to make and install the safety’s on the switchblades. what is china famous for?? copying. now every one has the safety. smith and Wesson / scrade / boker magnum. they did it to them self’s. just trying to cut there work force in the USA and send it over seas. they sued and made them remove the safety's on the knifes. and why do I feel sorry for them again?? I sell the read deal and the cheap china ones to. I just let the buyer decide what he wants to spend his money on.
