This is my current collection of pocket knives, (I just started this year).

I was thinking about a ZT 0450 next. I don't really need it, but man is it addictive. How many pocket knives is too many?

Nice group you have there. Which is your favorite so far? I was actually thinking of suggesting a ZT 0450 and went back and read what you wrote under the pic. I'd say go for it. And you're averaging less than 1 a month...not too many yet, You need a few more :)

It's never too many! Well maybe when you sell off the house and can't put food on the table then you might have gone a tad overboard. I started in April this year and have 14 folders and 2 busse blades. Once you start buying CRK and Busse you will hate looking at your bank account. :D

I had 30 and that was about my limit personally. I have since sold all my cheaper knives (100 to 200 dollars) and bought customs. So now I only have 15 knives but they're all higher-end. 15 for me is the sweet spot

When you run out of room to hide them and there spilled all over the house garage and vehicles.

For me personally double digits is too many. I downsized to four folders and I feel better. Although I am considering getting a Southern Grind Spider Monkey. If I get that then one of my four will probably be sold to maintain total of four.

In November when my last 3 customs are finished being built, that is it for me. I have finally got my "perfect assortment". I hate to say how many I actually have. I love them all and use them all, but it is a very difficult choice choosing the daily carry each day!

That's not too bad...not even one a month...
I had some days where I got three in the mailbox on the same day. You have a collection; I had an obsession.
I'm better now...well...somewhat..

You have nice folders, but an EXTREME lack of Spydercos. :)

It's fun to read some of the replies :D I say one knife or on average $200 per month is quite reasonable, not that I am pursuing a number or dollar amount but based on the availability of interesting knives in the market and the thought of not over-spending.

More than 30 is too much for me.

I hear good things about Spydercos but I am not a fan of the aesthetics of a lot of them.

I don't really have a favorite one. I like them all. My least favorite is the HK, but that is mostly due to blade shape / serrations. I was thinking about getting the BM 903 or (and??) BM 908 (stryker / mini stryker). I really like the axis lock.

If a certain knife has not been in your hand within a year, maybe a year and a half, you might have too many. Specialized blades excluded.

I have collected knives for years and can't tell you how many I have. A couple of years ago, I decided to scale back my collection and buy knives with a goal to own only three knives of each basic blade style. With the help of BF members, I have realized even that is too much. Now, my aim is to have only about two dozen knives total.
Maybe eighteen, if possible. Like above, specialized knives excluded, along with a small group of limited editions, family heirlooms and a few knives with extreme sentimental value.

I feel the same way about Spyderco as you do. I have one of their rescue knives somewhere but I have plans to own another Spyderco. Only one. I have high hope for the new PM3 coming out soon.

I seem to lean towards the Axis lock myself and I really like the Stryker series. If they only offered a FFG blade....

If you carry a BM Triage for work, the Mini-Stryker is a natural for off duty carry.

I have a nylon storage pouch thingy that holds ten. I lost my Spyderco dragonfly 2 zdp-189, so I have room for one more. However, now that I've had my Bailey Model 2 Geek edition flipper a week, I'm done. It has satisfied my every want and need.

At one point, 2 years ago, I had 35 folders.

The value has gone up considerably.

Pic of my meager collection, sans Brous Bionic, which is boxed up to ship Tuesday for sharpening.
