How many knives are in your collection?

Right now I have 5 folders, 1 multi-tool, and one folder on the way. Chinese Kershaws on the low end, CF Kershaw on the high end.

I don't really ever forsee going over 10 or so. I like to have a few nice knives around, but I wouldn't call myself a "collector."
 
Right now I have 3 good quality knives, all of which are in my EDC rotation, and a few cheap pieces of crapola laying around. I plan on picking up either a Kershaw RAM or a Spydie Manix 2 in the near future though, and then a BM 300SN, and then a 950 Rift, and then a Native 5, and then a Blur of some flavor, and then a 746 Mini-Onslaught, and then a Gayle Bradley, and then a Salt 1, and then a G10 Leek...

Well, not exactly a collection per se. But I have 15 non-kitchen, non-multitool knives (counting one SAK as a knife).

Relatively recent purchases:
4 Kershaws
2 Bokers
1 Spyderco
1 Victorinox

Had these for 25 years or more:
2 Schrades
2 Gerbers
1 Buck
2 nameless small folders
 
i have 10-15 fixed blades, ESEE being the most popular brand for me, one or two customs. A couple multitools, mostly Leatherman. 2 folders, a Kershaw and a Case.

i don't really carry folders, ones a fixer up with sentimental value the other will just be given away as a gift. Not much of a collection but boy do i love my steel.
 
I only have about 10 or so, but I did just start collecting a couple months ago. I was going for cheap good brand knives to get a feel for it first then it sort of just erupted and I can't control myself. They're calling me knife crazy at work because everyday I'm carrying something different haha
 
I have 11 or 12 right now but I sold off a lot, probably 15 or so to pay for Christmas gifts, a vacation, and my credit card bill.

I'm the same way. I've started to think my collection of cheaper knives for nicer ones. Still around 20 though

We have a few but can always use more. =]

Anyways, I fall into the accumulator/user category. None of my knives are new or mint. Some close to it, but none are dead mint. They've all been used to some extent. And if they don't get used/have a purpose or sentimental value, they get traded off for something I will truly enjoy and get some use out of. Recently started making myself rotate(in no order) what I carry, that way everything gets a chance to ride around and be used.

I have about 22(if you count Everything I have around) all falling into the folding knife category.

I got rid of most of my sub-$50 knives. I only kept the knives that I will use and EDC.

The answer to this question depends on who in my home supplies it:

"How many knives do you have in your collection?"

Me? "Not enough."
My wife? "Too damn many."
 
9 Knives. Too many, according to my wife (so familiar). I just remind her of how many purses or scarves she has, and suddenly I have room for one more knife:)

My focus is now on high quality. So now it has to be really good, different, or I pass on it.
 
I honestly don't know how many I have. I stopped keeping track long ago. I am not a collector per se, so I don't have my knives all in an organized location. ALL my knives get used. They are strewn about in various locations where I can access them. I have about 6 that I rotate for EDC though.

16 seems like a good number to have though if you are not a collector but rather a user. I think around 15-20 and you get to the point that you don't get good use out of each of the ones you have. More than that and you start becoming more of a true collector. Just my opinion though. I try to get rid of the ones that don't get used as I acquire newer models.
 
This is a moving target for me as the numbers change (weekly sometimes). Folders - about 12, but only 6-7 that I carry regularly. Fixed - about 10 w/ BRKT heavily represented. Multitools - about 6.
