  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

How many knives are in your collection?

Let's see... In order of purchase;

1.) Wenger Handyman.
2.) Gerber Paraframe I.
3.) Buck Diamondback.
4.) Cold Steel Gunsite II.
5.) Some cheap Fury modified tanto fixed-blade my sister gave me.
6.) Benchmade Mini Ambush.
7.) Ka-Bar USMC (leather handle).
8.) An Ozark Trail multi-tool my sister gave me.

And then there were a few knives my dad and uncle had and gave me, in no particular order;

9.) Old Timer 34OT
10.) Imperial rope knife.
11.) Case XX blue handled two-bladed slipjoint.
12.) Schrade SC500.
13.) Another Old Timer (similar, but older).
14.) My Dad's old Buck three-bladed slipjoint.

So, 14. But I hope to add a Spyderco Native S30V, a CRKT M16, and a Swamp Rat Camp Tramp (or the new line equivalent).

Bob... you've cured my ignorence. As, I did not realize my fellow forumites had so many knives, sheezzz...

Hopefully, I will be a contender someday... but, how is my wishlist for starters?
Cleary

Somewhere around 30. I don't feel the need to list them all. It's not a big collection, but every one is of high quality. Luckily I was taught what makes a good knife and never went for the cheap gas station Frost crap.

My addiction is just beginning.

Only 4...

SAK Cybertool 34 Onyx
Opinel No. 8
Atahualpo gaucho knife
Queen Large Toothpick D2 Cocobolo (just ordered)

Also many Japanese kitchen knives (Nenox S-1, Takeda blue steel, Tojiro powdered steel)

You're definitely off to a good start. The first knives I had as a boy were relatively inexpensive, Imperials mostly along with an Old Timer and a couple of chinese 'gems'. I still have 'em all too.

I don't think many of the "big guns" have responded to this topic yet. C'mon, where are you four-digit guys?

-Bob

Somewhere in the thirty range. ("I know I got ..... Where is it? Augh!")

Usually, when I go over fifty, I get a desire to divest.

Geez if I had to countem that would take too long so I am guessing in the neighborhood of 200?

p.s. including multitools

I have around 20. I am also into quality over quantity. I see myself buying about 1 expensive knife ($500+/-) every year from here on out. I have about 6 Benchmades, 5 Chris Reeves, 2 William Henrys, 2 OTF Microtechs, 1 Al Mar, 1 Emerson, 1 Spyderco, 1 Lone Wolf and a Buck Mayo TNT.

I stopped counting at 500 and that was a few years ago. Heavy on
Benchmades and customs, but then, again, I have been collecting for over
50 years. Soon time to start dumping; I ain't getting younger.:o

Honestly Honey, I have only two. (crates) But the count is never completed. It is safer that way.

I have a small collection of stuff my dad passed onto me (because he can't sharpen at all)
SOG flash II (bought myself)
Spyderco native(newest hand me down)
sak light
ka-bar
casexxx blue pocket knife
swiss card(blue also)
a old beat up swiss (Can't tell which one...maybe a champ it's 20 years old so it's not bad)
spyderco salt (on it's way)
cheap ballisong I got from flee market...it's amazing thoe holds a edge and it's sturdy)
crkt kiss:thumbup:

Small at the moment.

* KaBar 8" Black Tanto
* Kershaw Leek
* Buck / Mayo Cutback
* Gerber Fatty - Sucky pocket clip + Rubberizing, but otherwise good.
* Cold Steel Kobun

The Kobun surprised me a little. Its not the sharpest knive in the safe, but it's sharp enough to make clean easy slices in meat and vegetables withough going dull, and Its has a realy good handle and full tang. What more can you ask for in a $30 fixed blade?

Im hoping soon to add:

* Kershaw Spec Bump
* Al Mar SERE 2000
* Ontario/RAT RTAK

Those knives cover my basses very nicely.

10 misc cold steel knives
3 USMC Ka-bars and 1 Ka-bar kukri
Sog tigershark
Tops Tracker
Tops ATAX
about 1doz misc gerber folders
3 CRKT knives
