How many knives do you EDC?

I switch between 3 knives for EDC.
For standard EDC (at work, to open boxes, cut fruits/food etc..) I use a PM2
For more formal/dressed occasion, I prefere to carry a BM 953. I like it because it is very small and stylish.
For holidays, hicking and so forth I take my ZT0350, which I like a lot and really trust for heavier jobs.

I get the reasoning behind carrying 2 knives, but find it annoying carrying more than 1.. the only place I like to carry a knife is clipped to the front right pocket. having a knife in the back pocket, or having a knife loose in your pocket, etc isn't comfortable.

In a pouch at the front of my belt, this

Horizontally at the back of my belt,

for butchering rabbits my Jack Russell catches, & for defense against any more pitbulls which try to kill him.

1 knife in the front right pocket is all i need. the only time i would use my pocket knife to cut fruit is if i was desperate. other than that i use kitchen utensils.

I refuse to say! It varies as some days vary for the weather. I figure what the hey! I've got cards showing I'm a knife maker. I've got an excuse! Its more than one nuff said!;)

I carry 4 and 1 trainer - every day.

My EDC -

Glock 19 in Incog holster with mag caddy - main fighting weapon
2 spare mags
599 Fox Karambit - main fighting knife
Ka-Bar TDI - secondary and last ditch effort knife
Leatherman - used for all utility work
ResQMe - on keychain, for cutting seatbelts and breaking glass
599 Fox Karambit Trainer - also doubles as a blunt force object for less than lethal force
Surefire Lumamax Flashlight
Tourniquet
Medical Gloves
Cell phone
Keys
Wallet

Usually two on me. Sometimes 3. But mine are small. I don't carry large modern folders.

I carry a SAK all the time. Occasionally I'll throw in another folder or a small fixed if I know I need a clean knife to cut some food with.

I live and work on a ranch in Wyoming in the summer and I carry an old stainless spyderco native combo blade which I have broken the tip off of a couple of times and then I just regrind it. Great knife. I am waiting on a crusader forge fixed blade to take its place. I also have a leatherman wave on my belt. What is a sak?

sak = swiss army knife :)

Girls can carry many, many knives . . . I have been carrying 2 knives lately. Spyderco Domino in my purse -- always. Then, if I am wearing slacks or a dress or skirt with suitable pockets, mainly my yellow Mini-Grip. Some days I'll take my yellow Kershaw Scallion instead. Yes, I like yellow. The standby for the second spot is sometimes a Kershaw Skyline, black and flat dark earth, or a SOG Twitch II, polished wooden handle.

ZT0350 clipped to left front pocket
small Victornox in the same pocket, got to have a toothpick
Either Hinderer or Gayle Bradley clipped to right front pocket
Leatherman Squirt in same pocket.
This is what I carry everyday, everywhere.
To many times you are out and need a small screwdriver, pliers or another oddball thing the smaller knives can take care of.
I use the ZT as my main EDC, if something needs cutting it is first in my hand.
Being a lefty, I carry in the right pocket in case there is a fight over my gun.
The Gayle Bradley has been waved so there is no fumbling trying to open it.

At work (cop) I carry a Gerber multi-tool in my belt and a Smith & Wesson frame lock behind my mag pouch (this get used as more of a pry bar than ever cutting anything, but it is sharp)
I also have a Tops Fox clipped to my bag in the front seat and a Puma Bowie for putting down deer that have been hit by cars.
My motto is "Never get killed for lack of fighting back".

Always two. I haven't been without a SAK in my pocket for over 30 years. Just far too usefull a tool not to have one.

Then I have a big, scary, one hand opening, tactical folder on me. Just because I like too.

Native5 to cut any staff
Caly3.5 or C83 Persian to cut food
Kopa coco or Moki glory not to scare some stupid people
Jester on my key chain because i have key chain

I generally have 3. My TOPS scalpel (2.5" blade) lives on my backpack strap, then I will rotate out my folders, which is generally about a 3" blade, with serrations, for light utility work, and then finally, I always have a fixed blade in the small of my back I could depend my life on, whether it for extremely heavy utility duties, a defensive combat situation, or if SHTF and im away from home, at the very least, ill have my fixed blade.

Usually three. Vic Rambler for the tools, slip-joint for most of my cutting tasks, and a modern one-hander just because/in case I need it. :)

In my day-to-day life, I generally carry four blades, (including what's in my backpack).

A one-hand-opening locking folder clipped to my pants pocket (today it's a fully-serrated Delica4, but I like to rotate through my collection)

Victorinox Cadet in my pants pocket for lending to others and use in public and/or around knife-adverse people.

Multi-tool of some kind in my bag for random fix-it tasks. Today it's a Leatherman Wave.

Spyderco Assist in my EDC first aid kit as a backup blade and for emergencies (already came in handy once when a nasty traffic collision happened right in front of me).

I like 2-3 depending on what I'm doing, unless I'm going to a public gathering, then I can sometimes carry up to 6.
My reasoning?

First let me tell you what I carry:
1 locking blade
1 SAK Tinker
1 Leatherman WAVE

That's most days. The locking blade is to cut things...most things. The Tinker is in case I dull the locking blade on something and need another, as well as the many tasks it can perform on its own. (I use the toothpick daily).
The WAVE is for when I know I'll be doing something job-like. (fixing a car, assembling a bed, etc) I carry it and the 30(?) bit driver set. Keeps me pretty well prepared.

For social gatherings or public events where I'm not getting metal detected or frisked:
1 locking blade in pants pocket
1 locking blade in jacket pocket
1 SAK Tinker
1 Case Trapper
1 Opinel No. 7
1 Balisong (if legal)

The redundancy of the locking blades in pants/jacket is for changes in temperature. Sometimes I take the jacket off, otherwise it's easier to reach into my jacket pocket.
The Case is for when I want to keep a low profile. In Texas, Case is king, and will never get you funny looks.
Tinker is for same reasons stated above.
The Opinel is like a "Just in case I need to slice something really thin" occasional knife. I also hand it to people when they need to cut something because I'm not worried about it, and it's funny to watch them try to figure out how to open it. (;
The Balisong is for when I get bored and I'm around friends who know I'm not going to fillet anyone. I like to flip.

There ya go. (:
