Well...EXCUSE ME, the newest craze is Sad, Sad, Sad! Pull them knives out of them cheeks. A good knife belongs in a good perp. :cool: Here, here! :D
 
I had around 200.

Over the last many months I have been selling them down to around 20 to pay bills.

I won't bore you with my problems, but sometimes priorities change depending on emergencies. I'll keep my Chris Reeves and a few favorites but I've got to sell down to a few "keepers".

If I ever get rich I'll get them back.

The last time I counted was last summer (It was a rainy day and we didn't have anything else to do). That also includes a bunch I gave my daughter (14 years old) over the last few years. We call it "our" collection.

Spread out, it covered the kitchen and dining room tables as well as the butcher block. We keep them stored in two toolboxes, one a Lg Craftsman pro series, and the other a older wooden tool box with 11 drawers. That collection constitutes over 30 years of collecting through buying, trading, making, and inheriting.
 
I have somewhere around 275 knives in my collection but then I have been collecting for 30 years. I have mostly factory production knives, a lot of lockbacks (mostly Schrade, Camillus and Case), about a dozen bowies, a few hunters and fighters, a few military pieces and about 8 or 10 handmade custom pieces.

That said I only need 2 or 3 more- of course I've been saying that since day 1. :rolleyes:

In all seriousness, I have somewhere in the ballpark of 45 to 48 knives.
 
I own as many as I want. It's not a big number. They won't, for instance, fill the trunk of my car, but they won't fit in a shoe box either. It's just the number of knives I have. Because it is my right to do so, and I won't apologize for that.

lets see at one time I had about 250, but the bills got backed up and I sold alot of them...Wish I didn't but whats done is done, then after that I looked at what I needed and didn't need, lol, and I needed to save some money for a car, so with the bills paid and car purchased I am left with about 30 knives but I only use about a dozen of them in rotation...
