how many knives do you have?

My collection consists of:

two Case pen knives
a Barlow
a Swiss Army Knife
one knife of indeterminate brand (it's a slim, pearl handle knife that belonged to my grandfather that my dad gave me.)
roughly five more Case knives that are my dad's that he will eventually pass down to me, ranging from very small up to a deer knife.

I'm sure more are on the way as I am just recently able to start devoting some disposable income to this hobby.

As of now, 15, but most will be sold or given away; I'm just procrastinating these days. The excess were accumulated from having acquired them to see how well they perform for various tasks. Bladeforums has been influential in many of the acquisitions, and I must say that where a majority opinion has favored a particular item, it has been a good call. From BF I haven't gone wrong yet.

Some evaluations take longer than others. The only knives I keep are those that make the cut ;) (well, maybe a sentimental favorite or two :).

Although very much the knife knut, I don't have quite the acquisitive itch as some on this forum. May a merciful diety bring peace unto all those driven souls. :D

Approx 100. I notice the number goes down, but the average price goes way up as time goes along.

So 6 +2 knives and 6 that "don't count" because they're loaners or cheap with memories or something and they're either worth nothing or I don't use them. Other 8 mentioned get used.

I own 105 knives. Removing the Khuks and a number of other lesser knives and multitools I have about 80 knives Benchmade blue box or better.

This includes a dozen Sebenzas and several examples of each Strider folder, a user, a keeper and a custom for each Strider folder. Lots of fixed blades includeing several Busse knives and half a dozen real special Bill Buxton blades.
I have a pretty good selection of swamp rats as well. 7 David Dempsey Customs. Some real cool Benchmade includeing some knives a a CFM2 Aeres Knife.

I have about 25 knives that I might choose to use and each of those has been sharpened to a edge angle optimal to my predicted useage and polished through 2000 grit and stropped... ( stupid sharp)

Factory edges in general are boring and don't do some great designs justice.
That the Howling Rat Gen 2 for instance.... Thin that edge a bit, polish off the coating and get it REAL sharp and man that little knife comes alive. One of my favorite fixed blades.
