How many knives do you own?

Those of you who don't know how many knives you own, I encourage you to begin keeping track. Where and when you bought each knife, catalog photos and specs, price, etc. Never know when you'll need the info - to hand the knives down, for insurance, when selling, etc.

Excellent advice! It may take some time on large collections but well worth it in the end. God forbid someone break in and steal them or a fire destroys them, at least you have evidence they existed and you could recoup some of the monies back.:thumbup:

I've been buying knives for about four years.
I have 6 emersons and at least 10 spydercos.
And much more I would say I have 30-50 pcs.
My cheapest folder is probibly $150 all the way to $350.
Allthough I may pick up some birds and tenacious.:D

Yep. And when you eventually pass (croak, kick the bucket, flunk the final exam...), your children and grandchildren will want to know which knives you bought as a boy and which knives were from last week's flea market.

I have more than a few.
I have told my son who to contact after I go to that big knife show in the sky should he or my wife ever need the $ and had to sell them. It is good to have knife friends that would help out with the value and sell the knives for them, if the need arose. Kinda like having an extra life insurance policy. He also knows who to contact for help in selling my guns.

I have a few different answers.

3 that I use at the moment.
-Kershaw Blur
-Gerber Camp Knife
-SAK on keys

but I ordered my Fallkniven S1 to replace the Gerber, it hasn't arrived yet, but that will make it 4 that I own, 3 that I use (using gerber for nothing more than a beater and practice sharpener.)

But, I probably have 5+ knives that I have lying around and don't use that are just crappy pen knives that I have inherited here and there.

I'm not going to buy any more knives for a while unless I need one.

Nice, man. Have any better pictures? I know there are tons out there, but a few more can't hurt.

These pics are not better but they are more:)

I would say 25-30 high-quality ones. Everybody I know thinks I'm crazy, but you guys make me feel much better. :)

The most I've owned at any given time is about 12. Right now I've thinned my collection (if you can call it that) to 3. So not everyone here with 1000+ posts owns dozens of knives, but there's nothing wrong with that:thumbup:

I would say the count is somewhere between 40 to 50 knives, mostly Spyderco and Buck.

An approximate total of at least 28. The ones I can definitely account for are:
10 Striders
9 Benchmades
5 Zero Tolerance
3 Kershaws
1 Emerson

That total would increase by six or so if you include Leatherman Multi-Tools, SAKs and a couple cheapies I have lying around.

Between 40 and 50,they just pile.I gave numerous to friends and family. And funny thing is that I mostly use two or tree of them if at all, rather do the job with machete if I can.
And there is some of them:

more than 10, less than 500.

i really haven't a clue.

I'm in there somewere too :), I do keep a list on my PDA which get's updated with my EDC rotation, hopefully the 300+ in the collection will at least be listed in one spot and I can get an accurate count..

A lot more since joining this forum. I discovered Ray Cover and a few others in the custom makers market. This picture is shy about 30 or so added since it was taken.

According to my wife, too many...:D

...about 8 fixed blades, and 40-50 folders...I'm not going to be any more specific...;)

Ray :)

Before BF: About 15, the most expensive was about 40.00

After BF: about 200+ (best guess) and 40.00 is a cheap knife now.

I had about three hundred but am now selling them off . I need to get down to ones I am really going to use.

These pics are not better but they are more:)

Godot, what is that wood handled Scandi? A Helle of some sort? Also what's the one to the right of it - Looks like a Charles May?

Send a couple of those 110's to me when you get tired of taking pictures of them :)
