(I know this has been asked before but I couldn't find the thread)

Honestly, I think I have gifted around 50 knives to family and friends. Most all were NIB. I just didn't like them. The recipients were happy as hell :D

I've gifted 5-10 knives over the past couple of years- but only one really nice one which was a protech godfather... it was gifted to me so I just paid it forward.

Whoa, wish I'd gotten in on that Godfather. ;)

I've gifted about 55 knives in the past couple of years, if I count correctly. Nothing too amazing I must admit, the highest being worth maybe $80 or so.

Over one hundred. I get bored with them and only keep the ones I carry and use.

My son has an awesome collection.;)

I think 4 to family and friends. 2 I didn't want, 2 of them someone really wanted ( DPx Hest fixed was one of them :( ).

A few dozen? I came to the realization that not only do most people not own a decent kitchen knife, the majority of them have never used one. And since most of the people I know cook quite a bit it has become a a good area to leverage my niche knowledge into relatively inexpensive, but useful and deeply appreciated, gifts.

Kitchen knives are a good idea, I just recently realized the joy of a proper chef's knife, and I'm not even that great at cooking.

Only a handful. I wish I could afford to give away knives at the clip that some of you do, but I normally gotta sell to buy. Mostly Christmas/birthday gifts but I did send my best friend a stainless steel kershaw Leek when he had his first baby.

Dozens. Mostly Christmas gifts to family, but a couple on the forums here as well.

A lot.

Many autos and bali, involuntarily gifted to Fresno Police Department.

It's a real eye-opener. My recent forays into kitchen cutlery have made me rethink my entire attitude about knives and how big a difference proper cutting geometry can really make. Not to be too punny, but simply having a sharp edge just doesn't cut it anymore.

A knife was a standard christmas present to nephews. Now that they are pretty much grown up, I don't know what their preferences are or even if they carry a knife. So, I guess you can say that I gift a few.... Generally speaking, I don't look at knife giving as gifting unless it is a non-birthday or something like Christmas where gifts are almost always given.

For sure. To be fair, using good knives AS cutlery can be pretty cool, I love the EDC food prep knives thread by, I think, Lance_33, it's a great thread (with lots of good food as well). But after I got this great locally made knife, it was awesome. Big AND light and a great cutter.
