How Many Knives In Your "EDC" Rotation

No matter how hard I try I can't seem to get below about 9 knives that I like to rotate as edc. I'm curious how many knives others of you routinely carry.
 
4... not counting the credit card knife and slipjoint.

That equates to 2 separate EDC configurations. One for each hand.



 
I intended to have a rotation, but I've been carrying a ZT 0562 nearly every day for months.
 
76ish...always buying and selling so it's hard to put an exact number on it
 
I have a lot of knives, but these always make it in my pocket:D

About 18 different ones: 4 Hinderers, 4 ZTs, 4 CRKs, 2 Striders, 2 Spydercos, 1 AlMar, and 1 Benchmade out of maybe 50+ folders
 
Funny, never thought of what I carry as a rotation. It's not so much a "rotation" as it is an EDC "Pool", I suppose...

In the last week, I've carried a custom Ogg slipjoint that I love. I've carried a little Leatherman Squirt as well, and I packed a Kershaw Scallion one day.

In the last month, you can add a Kershaw Leek that I packed more as a money clip, and a Camillus CUDA ArcLite neck knife that I had on for a couple days. My uncle bought me a little slipjoint that has a straight razor shaped blade on it, and somehow I packed it around for a few days.

It almost seems as though the Daily Carry is dictated by where I happen to be standing when I finish buttoning my pants or tying my shoes. I got a buttload of knives, and they are scattered from hell to breakfast around here. Any one of them can make it into my pocket without me even thinking about it, simply out of muscle memory.

How many knives in my EDC "rotation" ? After thinking about it, short answer is "I don't know".
 
4 but they are all Spyderco Delica 4 FFGs. I just rotate the colors (black, blue, grey, green). I will add an orange + purple one day.

EDIT - ironically they're in order from right to left, most used to least.
 
One. Boker Exskellimoor II works great for what I need. I've thought about others, but really just have no need for anything else at this point.

Although, I do keep 1-2 in my bag that I take to work that get some use, but no pocket carry time. Its more of a "I need a screwdriver so get the SAK" type of use.
 
Two for an edc rotation but several others are designated for specific tasks.

Zt0450 and 940-1 for edc

Paramilitary 2 is my weekend work knife.

Spyderco Delica Kahr Arms and Spyderco Air for 2.5 inch legality in Chicago.
 
6 at the moment;
Gerber scout to abuse and open sand bags at work
CRKT free range hunter for casual EDC
Kershaw blur for more formal EDC
S&W border patrol, stout and heavy 440c to keep in the truck
Leatherman always on hand.
(+ a little 1" Chinese knock off $1 grab bin serrated key chain knife)

CM may or may not be Danny Trejo in disguise, but they surely do share a preference for badass edged weaponry.


I would say my rotation kind of falls into two categories. Work (office) and not work.

Work (1 at a time):
Small Sebenza Insingo
Alan Davis Damascus frame lock
Larry Withrow San Mai liner lock
Protech TR-3 Integrity (sometimes)

Not work (usually a folder and fixed):
Emerson CQC 10
Protech TR-3 Integrity
Emerson rebladed Commander (sometimes)
DLC pocket fixed blade
Backwoods fixed blade.
