How many knives would you own, if there was no Internet?

I got a recommendation to buy a SOG Seal pup because my dads friend carried one in Iraq and bought one in person. He also has an Ontario Sp1 in his truck so I bought one of those the same day I bought the pup. Other than those two knives I would probably not own anything worth mentioning. Just cheap knives.

I'd probably have as many...I just would have paid more for less quality.

I've been collecting traditional pocket knives since I was 6-7 years old and at the time of joining Bladeforums had about 110-120. Only a few were locking folders and zero were what I consider modern folders. King Daddy was a 1977 Buck 110. $85 was the most I ever spent on a knife and that was a Gerber TACII that I carried during my career in the Corps. When I tell my co-workers my SnG DGG is nearly a $500 knife they shake their head. A lot of jobs have been created by the reach of the internet that's for sure.

about as many as i have now, only because I have: Sierra trading post, cabela's, sportsman's warehouse, Cut co, & the legend Chris Reeves all within a 20 min drive haha

I'd say 85% less than what I have. Would never have heard of most. Curtiss, Fallkniven, JMK, Survive Knives, Bark River, ZT... I know them all from the Internet. SAK and Leatherman would be my main tools.

2-3. I seem to impulse buy quite a bit on the internet, mostly based on looks, in my pursuit of my grail knife. Once I get them, I handle them a bit, decide the quest is still ongoing, and end up swapping or selling them to others. The local cutlery shops are very mall ninja-ish and overpriced, but I get to handle the more common versions.

I have to say that my collection would be nowhere near it's current size, without the assistance of the Buy It Now button.

I have to say I would own a Whole lot less then I do now. I am sure I would still have a collection but nothing near what I have ATM and the Quality would be far different. I have always been into knives but without an outlet like the internet my highest end knife would most likely be a Gerber.

I would only have 2 or 3, but it has given me alot of enjoyment that I would not of experienced with out it. I spend a lot of time on the forums and youtube.

i live in a city with strict knife laws. even wally world doesn't sell knives here.
i guess i can find a few gerbers and bucks when i go camping and stop by a wally world out of the city.

Hot-dog, you can but knives on the internet??? :) I knew these darn computers and interweb boxes were going to be good for something!

I probably wouldn't have some of the knives I currently have, but have been collecting knives since I was 10 years old, so my collection was already fairly large before I even knew what the internet was.
