How many knives ?

Hey guys.
I was just wondering. How many knives do you own?

I have 19 "user knives" and about as many other "memory knives".

The memory knives are a mix of knives i have had from i was a little boy, gifts and some i bought on travels. They all mean something to me and bring back memories.

The user knives all gets used, some more than others. They also mean something to me and i´m happy that i got them, but if one break i won´t be crying for 2 weeks (just 2 days ;-))
The user knives range from Ontario 18" machete to Cold steel kukri to Tops B.O.B. to different Condor, Mora and Becker knives

Currently I own a lucky 13. All get carried and used, tho my daily use is hardly hard.

I currently only own 11. Down from 16. For the most part they're production blades ranging from esee, tops, bark river, aa. My aa you could consider a custom I soppose. Also have a couple gerbers, that have been gifts but are in emergency bags so can't say they're users, nor do I even remember I own them half the time. My most major users, are a bravo1 in 3v, tops bob thats been beat on harrrd (hell of a blade for ony around $100) AA forge xl bushcraft in O1. I pretty much only have one knife I haven't been able to bring my self around to using even though I wanted it 'needed' it and that's my bravo3. Makes me sad but it's so damn nice.

I'm up to about 45, not counting axes or kitchen knives.

My biggest vice is Spyderco. I have 15 of their folders and 2 of their fixed blades. Next I have 6 SAKS. Then just sort of a random assortment of other folders, fixed blades, and a couple of machetes.

I never intended to be a collector, and only a couple haven't seen use, but I'm getting to the point where I might pay up for a gold membership and start to thin the herd soon. Still, it's not like they take up a ton of room or anything, variety is good :)
 
I'm a chronic buyer/seller so it varies between about 5 and 20 - currently it's 12.
 
right now 30 folders and 11 fixed. my folders range from 20 buck cold steel and CRKT to mid techs like Razel and Ferrum Forge. if I have them on me when i need them they get used. my cheaper Cold Steel probably get the most use though, and ususally in the kitchen!
 
OK I just counted, 24 folders, not counting the 8 or so cheapies that I keep handy for selling to people.
A few fixed blades and several good kitchen knives, but it's the folders that intrigue me.

Haha.. the kitchen knife consideration made me laugh. That's great!

I am around 35 not including the kitchen sets either :)
 
50. Counting even my old safe-queens and Multi-tools.
Only 10 or 15 of them actually get used. Some harder than others.
 
As a long time addict (30+ yrs), I mean collector :D, I have accumulated around 275 (not counting kitchen knives like my Ken Onion Shun, Kissing Krane ceramics, etc) :eek:. About 20 Cold Steel, 16 Kershaw, 10 Opinel, 8 Spyderco, !0 customs, 11 Victorinox, 10 Case, 7 vintage Blackjack, 11 Ontario, many assorted ethnic (higonokami, opkapi, douk-douk,etc.), various limited editions such as OVB, Boker annual Damascus, and others. From there, the list gets crazy (crazier?) with Outback, Blackstone, Anza, CRKT, Wood Jewel, Helle, Mora, blah, blah, blah. I only use around 10 or 12; the rest are for the pleasure of finding, waiting, opening and admiring-fondling. There are so many interesting shapes, sizes, styles, steels, colors, uses and such that our hobby is seemingly limited only by our interests and budget. I enjoy putting catagories such as ethnic, choppers, scandi, out on the living room coffee table (VERY understanding wife ;) ) for a few days at a time and handling/admiring them. I must say that being a member of this forum has proven to be both enjoyable and expensive. I also must say that beyond the great deal of knowledge exhibited here, the sense of humor has been a wonderful surprise. SOOOO, Thank you to all of you who make this hobby great-so are you :cool:.

I don´t see myself as a collector. I intend to use every knife i buy. If i don´t like it, i will sell it.

I probably have over 100. They include about 40 all stainless spyderco's then there are the Benchmades, Hinderer's, Emersons, ChrisReeve, Striders with a sprinkle of Kershaw, Cold Steel, ZT, and some others sprinkled in for good measure. I love knives and I probably use only 1% of them the rest I just play and collect.
 
I have 15 right now which is as many as I can rotate and use. I use my knives. If they collect dust for too long, I sell or trade.
