How many look to a pocket?

How many times have you been out, or been around a friends friend or someone elses family member and just glanced towards their pocket and noticed a clip? How many of you notice the clip, color or shape of the top of the knife and ask " Hey, how do you like you ______" or ask what kind of (insert brand here) it is. I noticed i do this often, and i more so catch it out of the corner of my eye, i never intentionally check out peoples pockets, lol. If i can tell right away what kind of knife it is i'll say "hey nice ____" and it will normally either spark an interesting conversation, or they ask how do you know, i say i collect, then they start asking questions.
 
I notice them all the time. Sometimes Ill talk to them but really depends on the knife
 
I do it all the time. Most of the time it's a segue into talking about the knife since it's pretty easy to tell what brand of knife it is from the pocket clip. I swear once at Costco I saw someone that had a blue STR Lowrider clip.
 
I took my sons to a play date yesterday and the 9 year old who we were visiting made mention of my clip, and remarked that I ALWAYS have that knife in my pocket.

I thought, "what an observant young man!"
 
I always notice stuff like that. I like to try to guess what knife it is and share my guess with the carrier.
 
I keep people guessing with dual STR lowriders :D

But yes, I notice all of the time and only ask if the knife is interesting.
 
I never see squat.

There was one time where I noticed a guy with a Kershaw clip on his pocket.
But he was with his girlfriend so.........
 
I notice all the time, both pocket and IWB clips. IWB are much harder to see of course, but I try to pay attention to those around me. I only ask about it if the knife is a quality brand. No offense to anyone, but I don't want to talk about crap knives. :p
 
Yeah, I'm always looking for clips too.

Apparently my BIL noticed a spyderco clip at a christmas party, he's learning quickly :D

Best one I noticed was a ZT clip on a guy at tracker supply, ended up being a 350, had a nice little talk with the guy about knives, and the Emerson I had with me, turns out he has a cqc7 too.
 
Don't see to many around jersey but when I do it's usually a flea market knife! Every now and then I'll see someone with the knife clipped to the outside of the pocket and giggle to myself :D
 
I occasionally notice a clip in passing. It's not a location I tend to check out on guys.
 
I look for pocket clips sometimes, if i have another reason to talk to the person i might ask them what kind of knife they have.
 
One day I noticed a new student in the college I work at sporting an Emerson CQC7 sticking out the top of HER jeans pocket. Every time I have seen her since it is always there. I don't know how much this has affected her social life, but I'm betting she doesn't have much of a problem with her dates getting a little too aggressive!

I've seen a couple people with pocket clips. One was a guy at school with a Cold Steel clip, and the other was a no-name-brand.
 
I have seen a lot of people with pocket clips here especially on my LEO friends. The only thing is I have never seen anybody with a knife that's interesting to me. Most(All?) of their knives are $5 Chinese knives. I have only seen one guy with gerber paraframe.
