How many look to a pocket?

I carry numerous things. As a result I am very aware of what other people are or may be carrying. It is mainly to judge how well my stuff is concealed. I only make comments to those that I know. It is always good to see pocket clips whether they are quality stuff or not.

Always notice, akways ask. Most of the time it is an off brand but its nice to see people actually carrying.

I always notice, and almost always ask. It's very rare that I'm wrong, too. A lot of folks in my area carry decent brands--mostly Kershaw, Buck, and CRKT, though I sometimes see guys carrying Benchmades, SOGs, and Spydercos. A lot of the fishermen carry serrated Moras. I even see guys carrying fixed blades pretty frequently.

All the time. I also notice IWB concealed carry hardware sometimes. But I never ask - I consider that a rude question.

Years ago, I was talking to another parent at one of my kid's swim meets. I noticed that he had a William Henry pen knife clipped to his shirt collar. I commented "Nice William Henry." He was a little shocked that I recognized the knife. As we talked, it turns out that he was a martial arts kind of guy and liked knives and such.

He gave me a little CRKT titanium framelock that one of the screws and spacers was lost. Told me if you fix it, it's yours. :D

I also tweaked one of his SD knives that he took running because he has been attacked by pit bulls a couple of times (showed me the scars on his leg). He had me round off some of the sharp corners that didn't feel quite right to him.

I notice all the time, but I don't say anything. But, rarely does any one notice the clip in my pocket.

i noticed a spyderco lum in someons pocket at the mall and was goin to stop and ask how he liked it but the old lady drug me away lol

More often than not I notice pocket clips. It's sorta hard not to when the clips are big and shiny, and a portion of knife is sticking up over the pocket.

This is why I have fold-over, deepcarry, short, black 3M stair step tape on my clips. Every knife I carry as an edc will disappear into my pocket with only about an 1.0" to 1.5' of black clip to be seen.

It is a rare event indeed when someone asks me what knife I have in my pocket, and this is just the way I want it!:)

Occasionally a clip will catch my eye, but I don't look for one. Usually when it does it's either a flea market special or a folding box cutter. I have seen a couple leeks though.

You'll never notice a clip on my pocket. You may, however, notice the knife in the sheath on my belt.

I very rarely notice if other people have a knife. As Frank said, it's not a part of a guy's body I spend a lot of time looking at.

I see a lot of people carrying MTs and knives. I see mostly Leathermans on belts.

I see pocket clips pretty often here. One day at an Italian deli I noticed one of the servers had a knife clipped in her back pocket. I don't usually see that, especially on a female. I was only checking out the knife I swear.
I've been looking for back pocket knives on women ever since but haven't seen another :) .

I see a few here and there.

If it's a junky knife I'm not going to say anything, chances are its someone who doesn't really care about knifes. Really I wouldn't say anything anyway.

But, I was at a clothing store, and the cute girl who worked there had a crkt clipped on...mind you, this is rare in Chicago. I asked her, and we started talking. I showed her my Reg Seb. She told me her dad is a collector, and she loves knives.

I really wanted to ask her out.

People using large clipped folders tend to 'strut'. Hard to miss

Really? How? Like George Jefferson? (some may not be old enough to get the TV reference) ;)

Or because the knife is so big, they can't flex at the hip on that side?

I look sometimes , a lot of the time the clip catches my eye. I seems more often the not the clip is on one of those POS utility knifes.

i thought about this the other day. im in the burbs of chicago, so i don't see many
clips. but someone asked me about mine not long ago. i think its because chicago
is pretty tough on carrying blades. cool thread
