How many Oct. 98 people?

Im still here, was one of the first after the migration.Dont post much, guess im a man of few words;)

I think the forums went on-line on Oct 1, 1998. I don't know why I waited two days before registering. Been here daily since then.

I think I came over the 1st or 2nd day. Alot sure has changed from when we only had rec.knives and Benchmade forum huh?

Hello!

I too, post very seldom. Not too much to say- I just take it all in.

This is an amazing place to visit. I sign on nearly every day.

Unfortunately, I do not seem to be interested in as much as in the beginning. Not necessarily due to the content but maybe my change in knowledge and interests.

By the way, I read in the paper that someone has discovered the actual content of the original Damascus steel, according to them.

 Just thought that I might add something of substance for a change.

Yep!Been here since the beginning, followed everyone over from the old Knifeforums and I even was on Josh's old board before Knifeforums,I don't remember was it called recdotknives.Never the less I've been around for a few years. Some of my favorite posts are involving the trade me your Busse for a gillie suit threads :D

Lurked a few months... my favorite post was the late James M.'s post about the "CAT SCAN" still laugh when it is brought up :D Miss his input and demeanor!!!! God Bless ya' James

Old timer here too. Read all of the various knife forums ever since rec.knives on Usenet. Don't post much, in fact I didn't post until Feb. 99 (my registration date).

I also remember Knifeforums, rec.knives, Benchmade and Mark, etc. I also miss James Mattis. My favorite posts concern blade materials.

I registered the site on September 29 1998. We opened to a few people to test out the software after Spark and I played around a bit I think on October 2. Earl Stewart found out just before Spark and I went live that we jumped ship. Long story on why but the moral is if you want something right you must do it yourself. That night we were up and running and the rest is history.

Enjoy :)

Plankowner and knifeknut. Ya, I miss Jim Mattis! I think that stupid post I did about Talonite was pretty busy... Started on Recdot knives, followed Spark and fellow knifeknuts... how could one not like a 1911 fan who can pull off looking manly in a pink tutu? Thanks Spark and Mike!

I should have noted this thread isnt only for people who have been here since Oct.98.. Lets hear from anyone who has a favorite and least favorite thread etc... I will be leaving Sodom and Gomexico(Calif.) tomorrow for America(Idaho) for a week, I look forward to seeing the responses when I get back...

Take Care

Oh, yes, much of my hard earned cash has been spent on knives during this 3 years :)

I found it by coincidence one day, when exploring the web for kniferelated info. Before BF I was lurking at Cold Steels old forum.

Thanks
