How many of you are also Gun guys and gals ?

Always been a gun and knife nut since I was a kid. Heres my favorite gun. Saved me and my team in a gunfight once. Will always love her for it ;)

Twin, I just wish that I could get the Socom with a more tactical Stock more in line with say an AR style stock and grips.

IDK what your talking about. Mine has a full length top rail & a left side, right side & bottom rail. How the heck much stuff you want to put on it ? Mine is all black. It must LOOK pretty tactical, because EVERYTIME i take it to the range, i gotta go through the same crap, & people whisper "is that thing even legal."

You CAN get an AR10, which is .308 caliber & looks like an AR on steroids. Years ago (84-85) they even had an AR 12 Ga shotgun. It was SO devestating that the gubberment bought the company & stopped production. I was saving up my $1100 for the semi-auto version, when i read that sad story in one of my magazines. I think someone could make a fortune if they had an entire line, from .22 cal - 12 Ga shotgun styles of AR weapons. I know different people make most of what i just said, but no one makes the entire line.

Guns & knives go together!

I'm a Glock armorer and I've got about seven in my personal collection. The G26 is my 'going to the bad places' carry choice. "Going to the bad p laces" means things like trips into downtown Atlanta after the sun sets. However, my EDC right now is the Taurus TCP in 380 - a nice pistol and easier to conceal in warm weather. It's a trade-off, yes, but one I'm willing to make.

However, I've had a long love for S&W 3rd Generation pistols. What helped feed the addiction was the fact that just a few years ago a lot of local and regional LE agencies traded out the last of their S&W 3rd Generations for newer hardware (Glocks, S&W M&Ps, H&Ks, etc). These pistols were showing up in local gun stores or on-line dealer sites like CDNN for ridiculously low prices. Right now I've got about eight in my collection.

I picked up a VG+ condition 5906 for $200 one day, and the seller threw in four high capacity magazines to 'sweeten' the deal.

Here's a sweet little 3913 that I traded a ham radio for! This was my primary carry gun for several years:

Here's a nice 6906 that I bought off of an Atlanta PD officer. It was his off-duty carry piece and when Atlanta PD transitioned to the M&P he wanted to move over to an M&P compact model. For those not familiar with the 6906 it is essentially the high capacity version of the 3913.

And last, but not least, a re-built 4046 in 40 S&W. This is the DAO model of the 4006. This was a police trade-in (I suspect it was either an Atlanta PD or Gwinett County Sheriff Dept. trade-in) that was a real cosmetic mess. I stripped it to the frame and had a local gunsmith bead blast the frame and slide then replaced all the springs, the grip and put on Tritium sights. It has a very, very nice double action trigger.

While I love the S&Ws they are extremely complex internally. When you field strip an S&W side-by-side with an equivalent Glock - say the 5906 and the Glock 17 - you begin to understand and appreciate the mechanical simplicity and elegance of the Glock design.

Northing, I love the looks of those S&Ws. I hope to add one to my collection someday. A good quality 1911 is in my near future though, so it will be a while before I can get one.

Northing, that's a nice set up S&W's you have there! I have the 6946(DAO version of your 6906) that I bought off of a retired police officer for $300 and it's a solid, well built firearm.

Twin,
I was thinking more along the lines of pistol grip butt stock with adjustable length of pull like the Ar I love everything about the Socom except the more traditional stock that it has.
I have always preferred the pistol grip with full butt stock on a rifle like that. Now a hunting rifle is a different story.

I'm a Glock armorer

Me too!

I've got about seven in my personal collection.

Only four for me. :-)

However, my EDC right now is the Taurus TCP in 380

Had one right after they came out. Went back to Taurus twice because it wasn't working right. When I got it back the second time, and it still wasn't right (i.e. needed to go back a third time), I traded it in. Shame, because it had a lot of promise.

I got a couple. Browning autoloader 12 GA for skeet and turkey. Mossberg 20 GA with rifled and shot barrels, which was my very first gun from my dad and will be my kids. A savage 30.06 with synthetic camo stock. A mosin nagant ( long sharpshooter model) 7.62x54. And a plinker 22. Wanna get a pistol next, would love to get a forward break revolver, and my grail gun is a winchester 70 .308 pre 64

I have a few.

Neither of the pictures are actually mine The guns are home with my folks while I'm away at college. I really need to snap some pictures when I take them out next.

Currently a non-beckerhead but I own many fixed blade knives of various quality and many firearms as well. Busse, Fehrman, Nexus, Smith and Wesson, Walther(my personal fav.), Ruger, Benelli, Taurus and others.....quite the eclectic mix, but it give the option of up close versus far away. Love that option!!!

I've always been a gun guy. My favorites are my XD's, Glocks, and 1911's.

A couple of my faves.

I may have a couple or three Firearms. maybe.

''This is my weapon this is my gun. One is for fighting one is for fun''

Wouldn't call myself a gun guy per say....though, I view guns as a wonderful utilitarian tools, possibly a necessity in todays uncertain times. I've really had to save up for what little I have.

Mossy 500 for things that go bump in the night. Saiga in 7.62x39 (converted myself) when I got to get 30 rounds out there in a hurry.

Glock 23 and BK9 in my bag that goes everywhere with me, at all times. I live and work in a very rural area so I don't feel the need to carry my glock on my persons, but it and my big boy blade are not far away.
