Sometimes I will carry my 806D2 here in Seattle, where the limit is 3.5"

My dad lives in Portland, and I keep telling him to buy an auto even though he isnt really into knives.

No legal length limits, just autos, balisongs, double edged pushdaggers are illegal here.

Do I sometimes carry?

Yes, of course, what kind of stupid question is that.

can carry up to a 6" fixed... dunno, does the ontario swords bengal(20" blade, khuk style) fit in the fixed blade or sword category?

No knife limitation length laws in Ontario, provincial or local that I know of. I think their is a 4" limit in TO, but only heard that once.

Always over blade limit. Boston......2.5" blade...go figure...........

:grumpy:

i know, it used to be 4''. i carry over the legal limit often (my large sebenza). i usually have my spyderco mouse though which is less than two inches so i can pretend i'm carrying within the limit.

Pete

p.s. Don't arrest me, ok? cool

Over here in Aberdeen, there isn't an illegal blade-length, as long as it isn't an automatic, a dirk or a dagger...But still, I carry my Al Mar SERE 2000, (which has an under 4 inch blade), most of the time.

Legal limit here is 3.5"....used to carry my BM 735, which is 3.6". Now I just carry my small Benza, which is well within the limits.

I carry illegal knives. My real name is Mortimer Weinieburger and my address is 63 Chestnut Street, Springfield Massachusetts. I keep my spare house key buried under the third marijuana plant from the left, but don't dig under the fourth plant; that's where the bodies are buried....

Yes.

I carry my LCC D/A almost every day, which is very illegal in MI if anyone were to notice. That and Supposedly it's supposed to be a 3" max blade length in MI, makes the Microtech illlegal anyway. I don't every really carry anything under 3" though, they're too small! I like big knives.

Here in Indy I beleive there are no bans except on autos and ninja stars(Weird huh?). I don't carry them anyway since you can't even find a nice quality one. No point in having a knife that will get confiscated or get you arrested.

My real name is Mortimer Weinieburger...

Bullsh*t! My name is Mortimer Weinieburger, and the damn key is under the third marijuana plant from the right, not the left! :grumpy:

And, there are no bodies buried there either, they are really all buried over at my buddy Cougar Allen's place across the street at 64 Chestnut Street, Springfield Massachusetts. (see, I told you Cougar, if you implicated me in the disappearances, I'll dime you off!)

But, to answer the original question...yes.

All blade lengths are illegal up there Keith, WTF?

We don't have a legal blade length limit in Canada...

Mel

-edited to add- Ohhh, no limit, how refreshing! Are there 'any' restrictions of note though?

Nope. what it means is that there is no legal limit to the length a blade can be. If I want to carry a 15" Bowie there is no law pertaining to blade length that would prohibit me from doing so.

Is it just me, or is it a really stupid idea to affirm, in writing, that you engage in illegal activities?

I don't mean to be the 'Big Brother is watching' guy of this thread, but I'm sure that if you were ever on trial for having to use a knife or something similar, a prosecutor might find this thread if he looked hard enough and confirm that you have made statements that you 'often' do this. It certainly wouldn't help you.

Just a thought...

pjenkins00:

If you were referring to Boston prior to 9-11, there was no length restriction as with the rest of the state of Massachusetts. [ no length limit ]. Under 269-10B is where you find the statute.

Mass. still has no blade length restriction, Boston since 9-11 is 2.5 Inches.

Right now, I'm carrying a swiss army hiker knife whose large blade is 3" including the choil. Though that is technically illegal in Boston, you will only see the inside of the courtroom if you are doing something stupid to bring attention to yourself with it.

Boston PD and Stater troopers are not checking for pocket clips and stopping people on the streets. The law is there in the event they want to use it against you after other activities which have brought you to their attention.

I'm not admitting to anything but the SAK being over the limit. There's a little known case law statute from 1994 in Mass. that says within 269-10b that swiss army type knives, kitchen knives, and folding type knives are exempt from the statute.

I believe Boston will be challenged one day if someone is grabbed and charged with a folding type knive over 2.5 inches. Now a fixed over 2.5 and they probably are on terra firma.
