How many of you guys wear vests?

Next time you are looking at a women mneedham, tilt you head upwards a bit. Kind of like looking upward into the sky. You will see hair, eyes, nose and a mouth :D :D

I used to wear a fishing vest all the time in the outdoors in my highschool days. I don't know why I abandoned it. I've been kind of interested in getting a good quality one like a Filson lately. My problem is I invariably get weak and buy a knife instead. Well, I'm going to keep trying to buy more gear. This summer and my resolve to not buy more knives to the end of the year isn't going too well.

KGD,

So why exactly would you be tilting your head up???

This one I bought at a Yard Sale three year's ago, And It's holding up Great It's a Light weight Fishing Vest It has 23 Pocket's, And I use It all through the year, I carry a wide assortment os Survival Gear and on the Inside smaller pocket's are loaded with Preadator Call's & Turkey Call's I like calling for Red Fox & Coyote's and Bobcat's we even had a few siteing's here In Eastern Nebraska of the Big Boy's "Mountain Lion's" ! Does the mesh on vests like this ever get caught up in branches when you are going through the woods? I have always avoided getting a mesh vest because I figured it would get all torn up after a day of trailblazing.

you would be suprised how tough and snag resistant a good mesh vest is. I have a couple of Eagle's and a BlackHawk and they got LOTS of pockets..enough to carry a few days worth of survival supplies. I believe my blackhawk weighed in at 11 lbs before my last bush trip. Note: All those velcro closed pockets need to have a snap installed on them..velcro does not do mud/sand very well and that and time will cause the pocket to not want to stay closed..I've got a few peices of good gear at the bottom of the lake due to mud!

SnakeDoc,

I like that vest., it looks like my photo vest, but a lot lighter. Pockets are good!

I just picked up one of these Arktis SAR vests, it looks handy (but maybe a little too tactical..), we'll see.

Yep this Vest Is tough I've had It for awhile now and used It quite often, I think the Mesh Is the same stuff they use In small Mesh Minnow Net's, I aint been In no Mud yet but I'm sure your right on the Velcro I already got some that aink working properly just from lint build up, But I can clean that stuff off, I'll have to Mod. It out one of these day's with some sort of Snap fastener,

so, what is the oilskin vest, it looks interesting....

I've always been 50/50 on vests. the times I use them I like them, but I find them restrictive when it comes to carrying other types of bags and packs.

Part of it, honestly, has been the extra padding the last few years. Fortunately, that's coming off fast. I may be vest shopping soon.

That oilskin is Kakadu, I got from Sportsman Guide catalog a while back.. They had a sale on them, the price was very reasonable.. It seems to be decently made...

Midnight Scout, it looks like someone may have been fly fishing in bear country with that on at some time.

I'v never been a big fan of vests, but I aways thought they would be comfortable in the spring and fall.

Hey Midnight Scout, It's a Clamp on Fishing Bell for Rod Tip's, It work's great In the Dark,

That vest looks great..

I wish I could remember who originally posted it. He had one and wore it on his trips. A year later, I'd love to hear if it was worth the 300 bucks.
