How many times has THIS happened to YOU? (First for me)

It looks like that knife was trying to cut through my wife’s bread....
Makes hardtack, does she?

Last hardtack I had was at a Civil War reenactment.
It was great! I used it to drive in eighteen tent stakes (3 tents), and didn't even chip or crack it. :)

Edit:
I heard they started using the modern frozen rubber hockey puck because too many players were being seriously injured by the hardtack pucks they used to use. :)

True story:
After taking roll call, a Civil War sergeant said to the troops ...
"Yeah know boys, I was eatin' some hardtack this morning, and bit into something soft! Know what it was?"
A private calls out "A worm?"
Sergeant says "No, by God! It was a ten penny nail!!!"

I have never seen a break like that before, and have dropped knives plenty of times! Hopefully they will just replace it for you:thumbsup:

I think the dark spots on the spine are a crack in the steel that has probably been there the whole time, small enough to not be noticed but still exposed to the environment therefore somewhat oxidized. I know fallkniven will not replace an knife with a broken blade unless it has different coloration in the break. They say if it is a uniform color it indicates there was no pre-existing crack.

meako meako my friend as we say here "you Ain't right" :D:D:D

Must have been a pizza? substandard metal.
Should last a lifetime .

That's never happened to me, but about a month ago I picked up a German Henkels 10" slicer for $1 from Goodwill which I didn't realize was slightly bent because they cover them in so much tape.
I was carefully bending it back and got it most of the way when I tried to go just that much more and it snapped.
Also happened a few months ago with a real nice flin edge I picked up for $1.

I have a set of wustoff knives that I got as a wedding present and I just celebrated my 16th anniversary last week. I noticed this year that several of the handles had cracks in them and a couple were starting to separate off the knife which I didn’t think should happen to knives that have only been used in the kitchen and only ever been hand washed. I knew they had a lifetime warranty so I sent the bad ones back to see if they could fix the handles. They sent me new knives no questions asked.

My wife did drop one of the paring knives once, but we have wood floors, and it actually stuck in the floor and stood straight up.
