How many times will I check my pockets

Sorry to hear your Trapper is AWOL.
I hate it when one of mine does that.

I hope you re-locate it soon.
Have you checked the dish washer, and the washer and drier, and the pockets of what you were wearing yesterday (also the coats you wore today)? Maybe it is hiding in one of them.
The old AWOL knife..... It happens. The car/truck is the usual suspect for me and under the seat is the usual place or between the seats. Look where you normally take off your pants for the night; that is a common spot for me and with mess it's easy to not see a small knife. Anyway, it happens less when you don't rotate edc's often. I know Hickory n steel Hickory n steel has other good options however. One of the few true spare knives I own is the little Small Tinker. I got it last year to keep just in case. But I do have a wide assortment of folders if I choose to carry them.

Thanks guys, I'll definitely keep looking.

I don't have a dishwasher so that's out, and I did actually turn my La-z-boy upside down and shake the daylight out of it without so much as a popcorn kernel calling out.

Sadly the last time I remember seeing it was when I had it out to take that picture of the days carry for the big thread.
I didn't have a lot to cut yesterday, and the first time I remember reaching for it instead of the half whittler is when I discovered it was gone.

I may not have properly pocketed it as has been suggested, that's certainly the most likely suspect.

The hard part is that today it's hard to remember whether something I remember doing actually took place yesterday or the day before, I absolutely had the knife yesterday so I need to filter out the things I did Wednesday.

My girlfriend's couch ate my 8OT. It slipped out of my pocket, went between the seat cushion and the side and went inside the liner somehow. I didn't find it until a 301 made the same trip. I had to do some exploratory surgery on the couch to find and recover both knives.

Had that happen with a multi tool as a teenager, and it wasn't found until we got a new couch and we were getting rid of the old one.

Hopefully it turns up soon, I hate that "its gone" feeling:(
Watch/technology pockets have gotten pretty big.

But the dishwasher, @afishhunter ?
One of the times I lost my wallet I found it later that evening when I got home, in the refrigerator  I live alone if you don't count the cato_O Only after discovering it there did I put together what happened, I had put some cash in it while in the kitchen and for some odd reason set it on the counter. After preparing my lunch for the day I picked up the pack of ham, cheese, mayo and apparently my wallet and put it in the fridge. The whole time while making my sandwiches I was thinking "I need to put my wallet in my pocket so I don't forget it" Something got crossed wired in my noggin and I ended up putting it in the fridge with the other things instead  go figure

Buy another one just like it. It will magically appear!--KV
I could , but that one was like a 99% and others I've seen don't always open perfectly flush and parallel to the back spring which is something I really hate.
If I don't find it I'd rather have no slimline trapper than a lesser example.

I'll have to look some more then think about it.

The more expensive the replacement the faster it will show up. Usually just after you can't return the new one.

I've had this experience a few times.

For the life of me I can't remember what it was but I had something to missing for years completely forgetting all about it, then I remembered decided to buy a replacement and came across the original the next day.

The other pair of pants? ;) OR - more likely it slipped to the ground/floor as you were thinking it was slipping into your pocket. Hopefully you weren't standing on a bridge at the time. Good luck. Get your knife magnet out.

Check the top of your refrigerator. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve misplaced a slipjoint, keys, etc. up there.

I don't remember if I put the knives back the moment I finished taking that picture, as I was walking back into the house, or in the kitchen as I got back into the house.

I do not remember using it and since the half whittler went right back into the pocket organizer where it belongs I can only assume I either put or failed an attempt to put the slimline trapper back into my watch pocket.

I combed over the path I walked across the yard with one of those large magnets used to pick up nails and such from a job site with no luck.

Any pets in the house? The cat's been known to carry off a 'trophy' and hide it  Dogs are likely worse but they may chew also

My current MIA is a Fontenille-Pataud locking Lag in horn, last seen on a work trip in June, one of the many reasons I dislike work-trips: you want to have a decent knife with you but pressure & unfamiliar places can lead to losses....

My bitbull buttercup is about 14 now and the only chewing she does is on food or on herself, so I can rule that out.

Sorry to hear that you lost your slimline trapper. :(
I think that's a really nice trapper variation; I keep one on my kitchen counter.
I hope yours shows up eventually. Sounds like if it does, it will be in a totally unexpected location.

Thanks.
And yeah at this point I have looked every single place I can think of where It might have wound up.
I've even checked a few places I pretty much knew it could not be.

I actually haven't carried the knife all that much honestly , I like the knife and it impresses me every time I carry it but at this point It's just one of those situations where it's gonna bug me simply because I don't like loosing things.

If you were outside when last you saw it, sounds like it's "metal detector time". Just to verify that it is NOT out there in the weeds.

Don't have one, but also there are so many BB's and so many airgun pellets of various calibers out there that it would take a real metal detecting expert to when a signal is my knife vs some BB's or .20 caliber lead.

If you are on facebook look and see if there is a metal detecting group local to you. Those guys love this kinda stuff and often will come look for it for free. If ya was close to me I'd steal dad's detector and help ya. I help him sometimes but not near into it like they are.
