How Minty Can It Be??

Charlie, an outstanding collection of minty Terrier knives! I have owned a few, but no where near the condition you found.
Charles

One of my most favorite knives.

Almost truly mint condition.

Master sabre-cut spear nicely etched, "INDIANAPOLIS PAINT and COLOR".

Great bone.

Found these about a year ago, and meant to post them here. It's about time!!
I started this thread 9 months ago, and have enjoyed you guys doing all the work , but it's now my turn at bat!:D

A dream find for a Barlow Guy, these came from the Ulster factory I am told, about the time the Baers bought them out - 1941 or so.
As mint as old knives can be, I saw a tiny speck or two, but will never alter the finishes while they are under my watch!
All blades are stamped Ulster Knife Co.

The turquoise trade beads are almost as nice as those pristine Ulsters:cool::thumbup::thumbup: What a pleasure to see and I hope you wear those beads!

Thanks for the kudos Robin and Gevo!
And I do wear those beads - almost all the time!

Thanks for making this thread great!!
Augie, Wazu, Charles, Eisman, Al, Charlie N. and ismaris,
and All who posted before!!

Referencing the Indianapolis Paint and Color Robeson above, I once spoke with a man that had a Robeson bone handled toenail and a Robeson jumbo sleeveboard whittler, both of which he claimed to be in "mint" condition and also etched, "INDIANAPOLIS PAINT and COLOR".

I never saw the knives and he wanted $1800.00 for both, which was far beyond my means then or now.

All I can say is, Indianapolis Paint and Color gave away some very nice knives.

I wonder how many of those got worn down, splattered with paint or had blades broken while opening unnumbered cans of house paint?

Charlie, those Ulsters are very nice.

Thanks Charlie N, and Philllll!
I wonder if Ulster made a Spey version? Not all of the old companies did.
