How Minty Can It Be??

That looks like a nice catch, Jeff! Congrats!

Thanks, Gary, I just love the bone on this one. Here's the pile side.

Nice knives!

Meako, can you tell me more about the Schrade on the right in the last photo?

This thread is refreshing. :)

A great thread Charlie. Nobody matches the deep hollow grind like Case does. Some very nice old knives here to lust after. Thanks for sharing guys.
Heres a mint pair. 9 dot 81's

Here's my 63032 that I carried for years. I'm not sure of what the transition was when they added the zero.

A mint Camco sort of with a fingerprint.

An unsharpened Camillus peanut.

A mint Imperial fish knife.

Last but not least, a minty Syracuse.

Actually, one more that I consider mint for it's age...a late19th century Filmore. Used but taken care of or maybe mint and the hammer shaped it.

Yes Jake -it's one of my grails-an all time fave that I hunted for for a few years before one came up on the bay.
USA Schrade rope cut blue bone and it's a large trapper . I think it was from the Stidham collection or so it was touted.
I would have bought another rope cut but the ebay postage penalty came up and although I bid it wouldn't accept the bid because I'm overseas or some such BS.:grumpy:

:)

Thank you for the info. I had seen rope cut blue bone on two patterns from CSC that were a tribute to their Schrade lineage. But I hadn't previously seen the original Schrade knives.

just scored this Fightin Rooster Sodbuster, unused in the box. I'm guessing this is late 70's, early 80's. Love the scales on this knife! A great add to the collection!

Mike those are some "minty" pieces. I am fond of pearl and that bare head Catt is a beaut!

Jake I think this picture show it best

There is a blend of the materials between the bolsters and liner and the embellishments are to both. Looks like the silver is under the stag covers about 1/16"

Is it possible it's just the silver solder?

Meako, you have some impressive knives there! I'm especially smitten by those blue bone Schrades.:thumbup:
I'm also happy to see I'm not the only person in the world that consumes King's peppermints! :D

AND they keep em next to the liquorice jubes.:
There is something very classy about blue bone.
Maybe we should hope out loud that gec might one day do rope cut blue bone.I would be on that like a starving python on a well fed rat.

Found this Hoover advertising penknife still in its original packet and box :)

Here's an unused Walden NY USA Farmers Jack and a full but slightly less minty Walden NY budding grafting knife. I thought the budder was synthetic but it's actually polished Ebony.

Best regards

Robin

Here is one of my newer additions, a very old NYKCo. 5 blade 3 spring (about 130+ years). Except for the spotting in excellent unused condition.
