Hi Rawrzors,
As a bit of a racing junky myself, I understand. From slot cars to sports cars and crotch rockets, the desire never leaves.
The short answer is that it cost a fair amount of money to bring a new model to market. $100K and up depending on the model. We keep very close tolerances so "cut and paste" rarely works. The model that you are seeking would in fact be a new model and would have to go through all of the normal procedures we would for a new model. The qustion then becomes, Will the market support the investment? We've been refinng the Endura for more than 20 years and will continue to do so. However, a lock change really does present challenges and the Compression lock is difficult to make in itself. Machining texture into G-10 or Titan is costly and time consuming which drives up the price of a model.
I would suggest that you play with a model that already has a compression lock.
Some of the models we decide to make are inspired by forum posts. We'll see if your idea gets traction.
