How much is to much for a knife

If the knife is what I want and it functions the way I want, then it's worth anything, but I might pass it up for something cheaper.

For me about what a Sebenza cost since that is what also for me a decent firearm cost or close enough with just a little extra. Firearms take priority over knives!!

When I first started collecting knives back in 2004, I set a limit of no more than $200.00 for a fixed blade and no more than $100.00 for a folder. I've managed to build a really nice collection of knives over the years sticking to those limits.

Since I do not collect and use my knives like tools, then the answer would be $236. That was how much I spent on my Zero Tolerance ZT0300. It is more knife than I think I will ever need so I can't see myself spending more unless I stared "collecting".

I usually spend less than $100 but try to stay under $50 as much as possible.

I think more than one can reasonably afford to lose would be the limit for a carry knife. For a collector knife, I'll go with the financial planning answer above. My own most expensive knife is an Elishewitz custom that cost just a little under $1000. Talk about a sweet knife! I've never carried it because I consider it more than I can afford to lose. I would be embarrased to tell you what I actually carry and use on a daily basis. You wouldn't be impressed at all.

It depends, but expensive is expensive no matter how much money you have. A $300 knife like the Sebenza is expensive. If you have a lot of money, great for you. The knife is still $300, and you can do a lot of things with $300...
