How much money have you dumped into your knife collection?

I stopped adding at 10k.....it's prob better to not know the total dent to my bank account!

Well, this is the result of 45 minutes of stripping knives out of Spyderpacs, opening them and TRYING to just get them down to a single layer on a standard size patio table. I didn't even TRY to make sense of them. Need a bigger table.

 
Lets just say my first 3 years of collecting i had 55k my wife was real pissed lets just say 3 years later i got into customs and midtechs and well if i counted my wife would probally would have a heart attack i probally would to if i told here how much i paid for last custom she would flip. I would probbaly flip if she told me how much she spent on her last purse

How can you put a dollar value on something you love, or at least really like? It isn't about the money.
 
I just did the math and it looks like about $320 for me. Kinda shocking, the most expensive knife I own is about $55 :p

Thats not actually as bad as i was expecting haha. one of my favourite things about this hobby is how the knives hold their value, so im not to worried about how much i spent. :thumbup::D

EDIT: plus a sharpmaker and a WE sharpening system :rolleyes:
 
This past weekend I had my collection out because I kinda forgot what I had left worth trading.
I got as far as counting them and decided against trying to put a dollar value to them because it would just be too depressing.

How much are they?
 
Probably between $1,600 and $2,000. Though I've now got pretty much all the knives I want now so hopefully I'm mostly done except for special situations.
 
Around $4000 since I've joined. Most have been sold or gifted and my rotation is down to 3 Spydercos and a Benchmade. Haven't bought a new knife in a year and a half but the new Case Carhartt stockman in brown g-10 has recently caught my eye.

I know it's easily thousands... I've bought and sold way too many to even realize it but I can say this. I haven't lost money so I'm ultimately okay with that. I Rarely buy inexpensive knives I won't at least be able to get somewhere near what I paid in case I flat out hate it.
