How much money have you spent on knives in the last year?

1500 canadian, and close to another 900 planned when I get the money. I started in late december, and my dad wants to put me in an insane asylum.

Since Feb 13, 2001
$4,214.79

Thanks to you guys. ;)

Dexter got me started on the "hard stuff"

A bunch. But I got so much in return. Just going to the shows is worth half the amount spent.

Lets see, should I really sit down and calculate how much I have spent? I would guess way too much considering my income.:)

Okay, drum roll please:
$2800 since last year, including two customs I haven't yet recieved
:D :D

Oh yeah, and I do have plans for some more knives, but I won't say how much I will spend!;)

Erik

P.S. I hadn't realized it was this much. $200 here, and $300 there seems like nothing at the time.

Damn, I thought you guys would be higher then me. I've only been into knives since the beggining of they year. Only May and already $1,357 for this year; and have another $1,300 planned out to buy for three pieces.

Sounds about the same here, believe it or not.
On order I've got a Duncan Atuo, Lg Carson M4, Tim Herman Wall Street Neck Knife....I think thats it, I dont remember

Yeah, my better half keeps wanting me to catalog my
knives so that she'll know how much they are worth if
I die. (!!) Not that that make me wonder if there are some
other thoughts there somewhere, but there is no way I'm gonna
dig my own grave!! Wives I've found just don't understand the
NEED we have for our knife fix from time to time. That kind of
info in my lady's hands..........NO!!!! I'd never hear the end of
it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, she loves me ,but she's still a woman............

So the only safe response I can make is I've spent enough
to make ME very happy. Very happy indeed..........

Just added it up. $1105 since November 2001. Good thing summer is almost here and I can make more money.

Sparatic purchases through-out the years as a norm, always considered myself a Knife-Nut, but joined BladeForums the end of last month, and in the last week along with still having 2 knives to go for this coming week.....will have droped over $1300.

....Its better than a drug.... :D

(the fiancee has an idea....but not to this extent... ;)whew:p )

I deliberately do not keep track of what I spend on knives, or my other hobbies. I have a "slush fund", and I pretty much spend whatever gets put in there. I figure if it's OK for the politicians then it should work for me...

Doh. ~4700 $USD. And I thought I've slowed down in 2001...
Go figure. I guess I'll never do this calculation again ;)

Guess what, its June and the new total is $3,727 for this year.

I started cataloguing my knives in a software package I picked up in January. I stopped when I hit $14,000. And for this I could buy a Harley (used).

Less than what I spent paying my income taxes! I refuse to look at my checkbook for an actual amount!

I like that expression...from now on, we should refer to production knives as "gateway drugs" :)

In answer to the question, I have spent about $1500 over the past two years and I have another $1000 on order.

Since retiring from the service, buying a house and starting over in a new career, I have to limit spending money for myself quite a bit - and split it between knives and my other hobby which is geetars. So, in the past 12 months it's been 3 knives = around $150.

When the kids have grown up and moved out, stand by for heavy selfish spending.

I'm a real lightweight compared to most of you guys... Lets see... In the last 12 months its probably $500 on knives and another $150 or so on knife related stuff (sharpeners and magazine subscriptions). My highest ever was probably a couple of years ago when I hit about $1500 in a 12 month period.

...well....since my last post here last month, Im now $900 over that figure, so new total is upto $2200 -- Damn.........................

well, my wife says it's a lot, but, if you start to think about it, then it's not that much - I spent last year more then I earn in one day and less then in two days... this year it's gonna be two+ days' earnings
