Since it's your first, I'd think you'd
want to keep it....

Man thats a great first folder.. I really like the blade profile and overall design. I dont see why it wouldnt be worth $300 or more.. If I could say anything, I would smooth out the CF bolsters a bit more. A few minutes with some 220 grit paper would take out the little facets and scratches nicely. Medium scotchbright pad after that gives a real nice finish on CF.. Also it looks like you might have a few voids in the CF, a bit of thin super glue before sanding will take care of those in a jiff.

I think Russ has a good point, but if you are looking to sell it, I would think that $250.00 to $300.00 is the right price range. Follow Trace's recommendations on how to get the CF looking nicer and you should have no trouble getting that much for the knife.

wow bustin beautiful--great work. is that the g10 that mr. todd is selling?--as far as price i cant say becuase i dont know much about folders but from what i have seen the above mentioned price seems to fit---mark

Chris

Your fit and finish look real good. The bolster seems to have a few pits which need to be filled. You need to PUT YOUR MARK ON IT!

PS How long is the blade?
Drop by the shop some time.

+1:thumbup: That's the exact price I was thinking & I'm not even a knifemaker.

Great work buddy, personally I'd keep it for myself;)

I would actually use it for a while, make it your edc to make sure everything holds up the way it should.
You can then make the next one better.

I'm with Russ.... keep it Chris. I think you'll be glad you did. I wouldn't sell the first one that I made for 10 times what it's worth.

One other thing. I'm a lefty. If you don't want a double sided thumb stud then it ought to be reversible or you risk alienating 20-40% of your potential market (depending on which statistics you read :D).

that thing is friggin beautifull!

I agree with everyone $250.00 to $300.00
But as its your first keep it.

You might want to bevel the screw holes, or not go so deep into the handle material if its were to be a user holes that deep tend to fill with all kinds of stuff.

Oh by the way did I say that thing is friggin beautifull!

slim, I may be wrong, but I believe the thumb stud could be easily reversed by simply unscrewing the stud back and reversing.

Chris, I've been looking forward to seeing your first finished folder and you didn't let down! Great execution. I agree about filling the voilds as well as maybe not going as deep into the scales for the screws. But what do I know, my work is still way behind what you're doing! Great job!

love it could be an easy 300

but im all with the keep it and beat on it
things to look at
does the blade wobble (open or closed )
how is the closed "detent" hold the blade
how far will the lock bar walk over while seatign the lock face (this can be a big one)

as the Ti gets hammered by the lock face it gets hardened and will move over the lock face so the "nice looking lock fit up" can move a good bit as things get seated

but hey hell of a nice knife

I have held this knife. It is a big and beefy worker. It would grace any collection....or do its job in the field. The CF could use some filling, but is pretty much like all CF I have used (which is my complaint with CF).The G-10 looks like translucent jade. The blade is superb. The knife is tight and smooth.$250 would be a good area for price.

I agree! $250 - $300 would be about right.if you do sell it,make sure it goes to a friend or someone who'll report to you how well it does.you've sparked my interest on trying some folders..,with one handle :)
