How much time you spend in the shop?

The more I get into making knives the more ideas I have and the more I want to make. It's addictive!

Some people have golf, I have knives... the quest for perfection.

I agree, lots of folks outside of knife making don't get it at all! I just smile because they have no idea what it's like to be passionate about it like some folks are.

I liked the discovery channel bio on Bob Kramer, who makes some of the most amazing kitchen knives around. He bounced around from job to job, selling insurance, driving a truck, even being a circus clown and just could never keep a job or be happy. On top of that he's dyslexic. He discovered knife making and it was so amazing to him he knew he had finally figured out what he was born to do.

I'm no Bob Kramer, but I feel the same way that he does, and there's a huge number of people who will just never "get" that, but I'm okay with that

I voted 10-20, but the reality is more like 5-15, depending on my day job schedule.

I spend 60-70 hours in the shop.

It's a good question. I think it's more seasonally affected though. I spend a lot more time during the winter than summer.

Same here that's why I did not answer the poll. If I did get time to work in the summer, AC would be essential.
