Mixed How not to sell something by not following your own rules

When I see someone go off one a diatribe of rules, I just assume they are gonna be a huge pain to deal with and move on.
There has been at least one knife in the past month here that I walked away from because I was correct in my assumptions... all the verbiage was there to tell me not to bother, but I tried to start a convo anyhow and it was going south quickly.
I completely agree.

I never ask for an "I'll take it" post, because I give preference to the first PM or email. Sometimes buyers post that they will take it, and then disappear. Many buyers send a message, and then post in the thread, almost simultaneously. That works out the best for both parties.
Rev said that the new software requires the buyer to post something in the thread, in order to leave future feedback about the transaction, so that's another thing to consider, which we didn't have to think about before.

Who cares. Go to Walmart and buy a $25 watch dude. Zero feedback and you aren't starting off on the right foot.

Dude, it's not a $25 dollar watch, that's why I'm buying it. I am wearing an identical watch now, now I have a backup. I have multitudes of only positive feedback on many other sites including ebay and other forums (my username is the same everywhere), I am relatively new to this site and you have to start somewhere. As for digging a hole, I'm not sure how I'm digging a hole, I am only pointing out facts. If you post sales rules, you should follow them.

This thread would not exist if the seller had not said this as the very first "term of sale"

"Terms:
- First to claim it here in the thread gets it;"

I never said anything about you digging a hole, that was someone else. This thread wouldn't exist if you just cracked a damn beer and relaxed. This stuff happens all the time. The joy I get dealing with all these good guys outweighs a couple missed deals here and there. I would reccomend you not continuing to waste energy on this. Another deal will pop up....now you know to also send a pm

I know you didn't post about digging a hole, I was responding to yours and the previous post in the same reply. By the way, I did send a "PM" to the seller immediately after claiming the item requesting paypal ID and that was within maybe an hour of the other guy asking about "bracelet sizing". Also, you obviously are not reading the whole thread, because the seller shipped the watch to the other guy on his dime just so the other guy could try it on, it didn't fit him and he sent it back. The OP then asked me if I still wanted it, and I bought it, it should be in the mail to me now. So in the end, the seller lost probably $5 on a "$25 watch", so another guy could kick the tires for free. That's just crazy to me when I was ready to pay, no questions asked.
