How often do you purchase a knife?

Over 20 in the last 6 months, all 200-500 dollar knives, a few over 500 dollars (well we paid a premium for imported stuffs here, knife included).

But it's slowing down now, only one so far this month, waiting for new shipments to arrive in April, then the addiction will resume.. 😂

Too often but not often enough.

The other day I put some of the boxes into a bag and put them in the crawl space (all my knives are users and or in drawers waiting to be carried) so I have no idea why I keep the boxes. Probably for people in the future who might find it fun to have the box for "this old knife".
. . . anyway . . . I goes under the house with the little bag of little boxes . . . and . . . someone else has been storing THEIR bags of knife boxes under my house ! I have no idea how they got in or why they would do that . . .
hmmmmm
same brands I like too . . .
welllll . . . probably a likeable sort . . . can't be all bad . . .
Guess I'll pretend I didn't notice.

more proof I'm addicted, I forgot about a buck 110, becker bk7 and a becker remora I bought in the last month lol. I'm not debating which is my next ZT buy.....I need help.

rje58,

Bear and Sons (USA made)

I bought their commemorative walnut handle, 1095 steel, medium stockman and am totally happy and the price was too low for what it is.
I know this isn't the knife you mentioned and this is a poor photo (I posted mostly for the over all size and shape comparing it to the mid size Case knives.

For anyone considering a Bear or at least this specific Bear & Sons : I'm picky and I'm pleased (keeping in mind this is an inexpensive production knife).

PS: specifically; spring action perfect on all blades; blade grind and detail, blade finish STELLAR; over all quality and fit better than I hoped for.

For quite a while, my credit-card bill topped one grand per month. Darned near killed me trying to keep up with the payments. Finally stopped that, and now buy a folder very seldom...if one catches my eye...

For the month of March 3 total.
Tenacious in tan g10
Manix 2 xl
Volt ss.

I'm trying to cut back. It's hard to pass up good deals on the exchange though!
Plan to buy only one a month from here on out... we'll see...

a knife a week on average sometimes more. I have a rule. I cant buy another knife until the one i just bought shows up.

Until recently, I had not bought a knife in 5 years, literally, nor traded for one either.

I buy about 8 knives a year. It really is dumb. Yesterday I was looking at my knife collection and I just walked away shaking my head.

Here is the real kicker. Of all the knives I have, custom and production, my favorite and most carried knife is a Large Grip.

I made myself write a pledge not to buy any this year lest I have to pepper spray myself in the eyes, then have my wife kick me in the balls 5 times.
Signed and dated.
Last year, I bought too many knives. :D

One a month seems reasonable for someone who's working, if they want to.
Adjust the price of knife based on level of job.
Or one really nice one every 3-4 months. :)

But none for me for one entire year...I can accept them as gifts though. :D

I have purchased four knives so far this year. They came in "twos". None exceed $75. The next purchasing will probably happen in early June at Blade. I probably average a new purchase every couple of months.

Too many, so far this year..... 14 Emerson's , 6 ZT's and a couple of knives under $75.

But to be fair, I do sell a lot on the forums and most of the time I just flip the ones I don't see myself using.

Its a revolving process.

When I see one I like and budget allows it.
I usually buy knives in the $50-300 range max.
By the way, I'd love to go to Blade but I'm going to be in Atlanta in a week not in June :-(

ZT 0220, 0456 and a new Griptilian ... in the last 10 days. I'm a weak, weak man. The grocery store is overrated anyway.
