How often do you purchase a knife?

What do you think about this one? F&F? Issues? I've been wanting to try Bear and Sons (USA made), but I keep hearing horror stories...

Slide and mumble instead of walk and talk.

The off centered blade is rubbing on one of the scales.

Dirty G10 (factory dirt!).

Blade has very noticeable movement when you apply any pressure against the edge.

Between the Case CV Delrin@ $26 and this @20 shipped I see no reason to get this unless you just want to see/collect this pattern, prefer the materials or weight/linerless construction or blade shape.

All in all, a classic example of 1960's American manufacturing, today.

I'll probably order the Blue Denim version just because I find it hard to believe they could get any worse than the one I have.

whenever I feel the need...a couple a week or two a month. It all depends on what new design I like or model I'm after. I don't just buy to add some steel to the collection ;)

Thanks for your input! Much appreciated.

I buy a knife rarely. Only when i need a particular knife. This takes a tremendous amount of self control as there are many i want! In fact just yesterday I stopped myself from buying one I wanted (badly but did not need.). Being a minum wage 30 hour a week employ does help me do this. But looking at knives daily here on Bladeforums make it VERY hard not to buy more.

The last 30 days,
Buck 111 alum scales polished blade custom.
5 x Buck CSAR-T fixed blades
Buck/Ron Hood Punk
Buck/Ron Hood Hoodlum
Buck 112
Buck 124
I live too damn close to the factory. And the damned military discount.;)
Carried the 112 in the USCG.

I have own a pretty diverse group of knives so far and I have only ever actually bought 2 of them:)
I'm quite good at keeping the knife hobby self sustained

Being single with no kids, and with no one to badger me about my purchases, I buy whatever I want, when I want, as long as all bills and obligations have been covered. Some months, I buy absolutely nothing, because I don't run across something that fits my collecting patterns. Other months, I get a few.

For the month of March, I have bought 6 KNIVES - 3 pre-1940 Western fixed blades, a 1950s vintage Polish Boy Scout fixed blade and 2 1980s era Ontario 1219C2s. All other "sharp & pointy" acquisitions have not been "knives" but bayonets and swords. :D

I buy one when I can't resist any longer.

If we call ourselves collectors or users then we have some justification for the items that we want to buy, or at least some system. I usually think of something I need for my collection, or something I need to satisfy some use I have a need for. When I find the specific item I'm looking for, or something to fill a specific need, at a price I can't resist, then I buy it.
