For those of you who EDC it and use it regularly... how often do you take it apart and clean it?

it relay depends,
usualy about once a month,
not that it need it
I like to do it :D
but if it is realy dirty, wet or greasy,
I try to clean it ASAP
just to be sure:D

maybe once every 3 months. you really don't NEED to do it that often. people just seem to like doing it.

Once or twice a year.

I could probably go with less than that though. I'm not a hard user.

After reading this thread, I decided to clean my Sebenza. It has been about a year since I bought it.

I had forgoten how smooth this knife was when I first bought it. I guess it had gotten a little rough very gradually.

I will definitely put this on my things to do once a quarter list!!

Hardly ever, I usually spray it down with Gun Scrubber when cleaning firearms, hit it with Rem oil, wipe it down, and call it done.

every 1 or 2 months, mainly when it feels more difficult to open.

OR when i'm backpacking, preparing my equipment usually includes a good cleaning of my favorite knife.

When opening or closing feels different from when the folder was new, or when i notice a lot of pocket lint that could have absorbed oil from the pivot. In fact i clean and oil it twice a month since i carry my Large regular Sebenza a lot, even if a don't use it daily.

I can't wait to go camping this spring/summer/fall and really break in my new large micarta classic Seb. Then take it apart to clean it.:D
I hate Michigan winters.

Does anybody find that the crews strip easily? I was adjusting the clip a few weeks ago and when I was putting it back on I totally stripped the screw. It holds perfectly fine but when it comes time to remove the clip again I know I'm going to have a tough time. Interested to see what others have to say.

I like to take it down often, only because I LIKE to do it.
NAN,
By striping, you mean the hex head socket? If so you may be using too much force. You will have to replace the screw. One day, CRK may use TORX.
