How often do you take apart your Sebenza to clean it?

Does anybody find that the crews strip easily? I was adjusting the clip a few weeks ago and when I was putting it back on I totally stripped the screw. It holds perfectly fine but when it comes time to remove the clip again I know I'm going to have a tough time. Interested to see what others have to say.

Actually I've had the same thing happen in the past. When tightening/untightening you have to firmly but carefully push the allen wrench into the hole of the screw. The pocket clip is even more difficult as the screw has to pass between the clip and then into the frame, causing an even tighter fit. I've stripped many and had to reorder screws in the past. What was even worse is I had to get a screw removel bit for a couple. Now I'm just very, very careful.
:grumpy:

I take mine apart a 3-4 times a year to clean it.

I also find that it's not really necessary to take it apart to lube it. Like any other folder, a drop or two of Miltec about one a month keeps the action smooth.

Gull Wing, yes I do mean the head. I thought I might have overtightened. Guess I have to be more careful next time. I think CK sells replacement screws, right? Thanks for the help.

Use a T-8 torx bit on the clip screw. It works perfectly without stripping the screw. I use the T-8 from my Benchmade blue box.

I take mine apart and clean it about twice a year--whenever it starts to feel a bit sluggish and harder to open. (I EDC my Sebenza nearly every day, too, clipped to the inside of my front right pocket.) This is one of my favorite things about my Sebenza: the fact that I can completely disassemble and thoroughly clean and inspect it, then reassemble. All with only an allen wrench, always with everything returning perfectly and exactly. It's a joy. I could probably get away with cleaning only once a year, but that would be pushing it I think for how often I use it.

I've never had a problem with wear or stripping of the screws.

I use the CRK grease.

I do it about once every month or two. It's about that time that I can start to feel it getting a little rough in opening. It's usually because stuff has gunked up on and around the detent. I'm using the CRK grease but I'm thinking I might try something a little less sticky to see if that helps any.

Every time I have the pleasure of seeing Chris at a show and he demands I hand it over for a little "tune-up".

Class act.
