How old were you.......

5 years old, living in MT at the time. My father bought me my first knife. A Buck 110. He'd let me use it here and there until I was 7 and living in FL, at which point he moved out and gave the knife to me. It's almost 33 years old now. I've been thinking about sending it in to be polished up.

when i was six i got a small gerber folder(before quality went down hill) and carried in cub scouts

7 or 8, possibly younger. Course I had guns then too. I bought my first handgun with my own money at 12 years old (.30 carbine AMT, and a .22 Ruger Mark I).

My son is 8. I have gotten him a few. He has a Scharade (GEC made) #73 which his nails are too soft to open. And an Opinel (though I am not sure where I put it, or he put it).

For higher end knives, it will be when he is with me, or gets older.

Cut myself with my first knife at 5 and dad went "oh well, don't do that again dear." Never did it again and still have my first knife with me (it's very hard to open now )

I'm thinkin I was around 10 yrs old.
Cub scout folder knife.
My first real knife was a Buck 110-- still have it & have cleaned many a deer with it.

I was 7 when I got my first folder, but I remember my 10th birthday well when my father presented me with a nice 6 inch fixed blade. It was with pleasure to belt up the knife and I wore that knife a lot. To this day it is easier to put on a belt knife than it is to take it off the belt.

Uh 6-8 I guess. Long time ago and that doesn't stick out like my gun experiences or carrying guns. But it all has to be close cause I remember Dad teaching me how to clean fish at 6 at Lake Bistineau, LA.

I lost countless knives when i was a Kid running around in the Woods and at the river - Wish i still had them
