How strong is the Liner lock for Spyderco Military?

If I can't carry a handgun, and pepper spray
doesn't cut it, I'd like to know that my knife(or knives at it may be :)) won't
break the tip when thrusting into a large, vicious canine in repeated multiple
stabs(slashing won't work).

In this situation loosing 2-5mm of tip on my knife would be the least of my concerns... It will still outstab most thick folders with a bit less tip..

It even has a self adjusting tip for abuse situations: You abuse it and it gets shorter and more like a screwdriver so it will suit your needs;)

HI, I have several millie's which I am a huge fan of. Tip strength has never been an issue for me, using one for a pry-bar is not what it was designed for. Under heavy use like cleaning large game splitting a rib cage or cutting through a joint is not a problem. From the older models in ats-34, 440c, to newer models in s90v and s30v I would safely say they are well built and hardy knifes. The g-10 handles are super grippy even when wet with water, oil, blood, or what ever else I manage to get into, and clean up easily. As long as you use it for a cutting tool and not a crowbar it will do well. This is just my humble opinion. I also have a bm 710sbk, totally different knife except for the handle material, both have given excellent service to date. Either one would be a good addition to any collection. Bottom line is its up to the individuals taste in what they want when they are choosing a knife.

Good morning guys, I'm fairly new around here and I'm new to Spyderco knives also .. I bought my first Spyderco (Delica 4) earlier this past spring and since have found my way to lots of other interesting Spyderco models .. yes, including the ever so popular and well respected, Military. I honestly had no idea what the (for lack of a better word) "hype" was about the Military until my wife got me one this past valentines day. The very first time I held it and it was used, I understood and immediately became a fan. The fit and feel, the design .. the total package is just great .. really a pleasure to use. I had a bad experience once with a liner lock knife failing and since I guess I would say have always been a bit leery of them. To be honest, I've only ever used the Military for house hold type chores .. opening packages and boxes, cutting zip ties, yard work, and some food prep when grilling. The lock up on the Military feels very secure and the sound the liner lock makes when locking open has a nice "snap" .. kinda authoritative or reassuring. I'm not Military or Law Enforcement, rather, I live in Philadelphia where edc'ing a Military without a ccw permit would probably be just asking for trouble. Some may consider the Military a "tactical" knife and really, it probably is. For my uses, its worked very well. Thank you Sal and Spyderco.
