How thick should it be?

I'm demanding nothing because I have no claim. I'm stating a perspective and inviting people to consider it.

I sure hope so.

How 'bout some 1/4" D3V goodness? This is a thick blade that out cuts many blades that are half its thickness - the CPK crew know what they are doing.

Having moved some 20 posts offline, let me give some posters a clue before reopening this thread. It was a good thread. It might still be if some folks would get off their high horses. And I mean folks on BOTH sides of the argument.

To be more specific:
I do not expect everyone to live by my standards and beliefs. I only expect myself to do that.
That means that statments which do not agree with my beliefs get ignored.
So do statements which do not agree with my non-beliefs.

How do you like those Gravelle blades? I see them every time he lists them and I almost pull the trigger.

Honestly, man? I contacted ferider ferider before I purchased one.

To be honest, I'm NOT AT ALL disappointed. (*The above 5160 blade is a BEAST!)

You can buy one with ZERO concerns. (*Hell, I'm probably gonna' try to score a couple more)

Funny how you click on a thread, thinking you're on the current page until you realize it started long ago but going to the last page it looks like I missed the drama...
Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.
.095" for a blade used outdoors as in camping or bushcraft is an absolute NO go in my opinion. I personally would not want a blade thinner than .18 on a knife with a blade over 6 inches. If it's a 4-5 inch skinning knife than I would probably not want anything less than a .15 blade thickness so it can take a hit against bone with minimal damage
Anything less than .125" is a no go for fixed blade carry knife in my world. A blade this thin could be sat on and bent. I've bent my Tops Al Mar SERE and that's around. 15". It's all preference but I wouldn't even want a folder that thin. A paring knife perhaps but I feel robbed with blades so thin. The only thing I would buy at .095 would be a folder with a blade length less than 3 inches.

In today's world of "super steels" that are based on performance...... Why slow them down with the extra hindrance of resistance?

It's almost like having a massively high performance sports car, and then pulling a trailer with it..... Haha.

I haven't even started grinding on these knives, and they are Way thinner than what people are talking about....😂

And here I thought the top one was going to be Chunky? ;P

The bottom one is going to be a 5" Kephart. CPM Cruwear ....62-63HRC with a state of the art heat treatment. Thin.
It's not going to bend, or be delicate.
But it Will cut!
