I've been searching around the forum for a while.. And became very interested in for sale area...since I found many knives that caught my eyes..

But I was little hesitant to even decide on buying any of them...since I was never clear of how to actually buy them... beside the fact that you should say youll take them before others in line...

I read through many threads...and people were saying such thing as send them the Papal or whatever, and never knew how it worked..

I saved up some money...and I want to use it for the purpose that I started out with..

SOME ONE HELP ME

If you're just buying (not selling,) PayPal works like most any other online transaction.

Just ask the seller to send a paypal invoice/money request to your e-mail address and you can pay it via a credit or debit card.

It only starts getting somewhat more complex when you want to start selling--i.e. having people send you money via paypal.

That requires a little more work as you'll then need to sign up for a paypal account and possibly tie it into a bank account.

You can also sign up for a free PayPal account (not tied into any bank,) so that you can send money directly via credit or debit without having to request an invoice first, but it's not all that necessary.

Wow, it was that easy?? If I knew this before, I would've purchased few scrap yards :<

Im not in a position where I can sell knives...since Im not a much of a collector.. but later on, Ill learn eventually.

Thank you for the reply.

Your kidding right..???

second...the Pope isnt interested in assisting you with a knife purchase:D

Hey, Ren, the Pope is a multi-tasker. It really helps to have his blessing on all knife transactions!

I have found it easier to set up a paypal account and have it linked to your bank account or deposit funds to you paypal account.

Also if it is linked to your bank account you can just transfer the funds from your paypal balance to your bank account if you decide to sell anything and when you buy something it is directly withdrawn from the bank account that is linked to your paypal.

I say this because both parties can avoid any paypal fees if you do not send an invoice and when you pay you use the personal tab and payment owed option.

You can also add a comment for the person you are sending money to and i will put the knives i am buying in this section as to act as a receipt so you can keep track of your transactions.
(ALWAYS KEEP YOUR EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS UNTIL YOUR TRANSACTION IS COMPLETE SO BOTH PARTIES HAVE RECORDS OF TRANSACTION)

If i was buying a spyderco caly 3 for example i woul put in the comment (spyderco cal 3)

I have used this for all my forum puschases and sales and it is easier than trying to figure out the 3% fee because if you add 3% to $100.00 you get $103.00 but paypal will charge you 3% of that and you will receive a paypal balance of $99.91.

That is why most sellers wil actually charge more than the 3% so they receive the total asking amount.

If you use this method the only drawback is you have to email your shipping info because paypal does not automatically send it for you.

Hope this was some help as it took me a while to figure this out
