I started liking knives when I got more into tools my first knife was given to me by a friend a CRKT FD AUS 8 pocket knife I hid it until I thought my mom trusted me enough with knives so I showed it to her and she didn't like it and got me a multi tool for Christmas and wanted me to get rid of the CRKT so I just kept it at my dads. Now I want a spyderco I've always liked them since I first saw a spyderco id like a Endura 4 FFG, Manix 2 lightweight, or Delica 4 FFG but I would probaly be ok with the Dragonfly 2. What I think made her not like it is my CRKT had serrated edges a black blade and it was 3 or more inches not 4 inches though so still legal but I'd like to EDC a spyderco except at school for obvious reasons I also know how to handle a knife properly and am not stupid and I don't threaten or do anything idiotic like that I use them as a tool cutting boxes etc... Please answer especially if you are a parent Thank you

You may want to work on your punctuation a little. Your post is quite hard for me to read.

Speak with her rationally. Show her pictures of the knife in question, give her your reasons for wanting to carry it instead of a multitool (weight and bulk are good for this) and ask her straight up what you can do to show her this is an appropriate decision and to make it happen. Then respect her decision either way and, if no, try again next year.

I've been in the same situation before... Just prove you're responsible, and eventually she will support the purchase.

A Dragonfly 2 or Delica 4 would be a great knife for a teenager.
Just have a talk with your mother. Show her you have made an effort to research everything you can about knives. If she doesn't approve now, don't worry about it. Just be patient.

My father told me at a young age that "good things happen to good people."

If your mom says no.... it means no. When I turned 16 I wanted a motorcycle... dad said no. When I turned 21 and had was making my own money while going to school full time, I once again asked my dad if I could get a motorcycle (still lived at home).... dad still said no. When I turned 24 and had a decent job... I went out and bought a motorcycle.

My point is... give it a rest instead of trying to be so persistent, it's not the end of the world. When you turn 18, you can buy all the Spydercos you want.

Thanks for your help my mom wants me to learn to cook so I could use it for food prep to

a spyderco for food prep? they make kitchen knives that are specifically used for cooking and food prep, just to let you know. its a much wiser choice.

Yeah I know but I want a pocket knife and not a kitchen knife the pocket knife might not see food prep. Hopefully it won't because I'm not a good cook and I don't like to cook primarily because I can't make anything thanks for pointing it out though.
