Any experience using these blades hard way? How about differences between steels Randall factory use and process they are through from start to finish?

Maybe you can tell us what you mean by "the hard way" and we can help you more.

They're not as good as Down Under knives, you should get one of those instead.

LOL

Since Randalls are so expensive these days, I buy the Blackjack classics. I love the classic look.

I have a Randall Model One that I got when my draft number came up and I was about to go to Viet-Nam. Never used it. Still have it as one of my personal treasures. Have had other Randalls over the years; sold/traded most of them but IMHO they are fine knives.

The blackjack classic series are great users! I wouldn't beat on any hidden tang knife but if I did it definitely wouldn't be something as dear as a Randall.

You just have to use some common sense when using a hidden tang knife. I have three Randalls. The Jack Crider Special is my favorite from what I own.

I was going to say something snarky but refrained, thank you for saying it for me lol

I purchased a Model 14 many years ago and have carried and used it from cutting myself free from a tangled rope under the belly of a Huey to setting snares. Now the most action it sees is sharpening tomato stakes for my garden and extended camping trips. Are there better built knives, sure however a Knife company does't stay in existence for 83 years producing just okay knives. From WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Granada, Panama, Dessert Storm and other shit holes our brave men have fought in and will continue to fight, Randall Knives have been carried.

Here is story about the beginnings of the Randall knives use in WWII. One wrote, “It was a terrible thing at close range. (Your knife) would cut a man’s head nearly off with a quick swing... I also used that knife to open cans, cut wood, dress water buffalo... and it stayed sharp. I was offered all kinds of trades, but I wouldn’t part with it.” Since that time, Randall Made™ knives have been used extensively by soldiers and Marines, flyers and sailors, generals and infantrymen.

Our customers have also included astronauts, government agents, celebrities, statesmen and royalty. Most importantly to me, there are thousands upon thousands of individuals who choose Randall knives because they need a superbly crafted knife they can count on in the home and in the field. Or, as is often the case today, they’ve wanted to have a Randall MadeTM knife in their collection.

Is here anyone, who actually beat the hell out of Randall knife and may say how tough are these knives? How about edge retention or lateral strength of its blades?

There are measures of knife quality besides the ability to withstand abuse. An Estwing one piece steel hammer can take a lot of abuse, but that doesn't make it the very best hammer for every use.

Not me. But I am considering buying one. Why don't you buy one first, beat the hell out of it, and then give me a report. K thanks!

Buy one and beat the hell out of it. Then you'll know. I don't know why you would want to beat the hell out of a Randall knife in the first place.

Let me ask you a couple questions. Are you aware of the history of Randall knives? Are you aware of when, and under what circumstances they became so beloved and trusted?

If you are in any way "serious" about blades, you should be. Its Knife 101. I suggest doing some homework.

Also, we still have absolutely no idea what "beating the hell" out of a blade means to you. Maybe you can give us some specific examples of how you personally have beat the hell out of a knife, so we are all on the same page.

I don't understand why everyone is so aggressive towards op. People ask about toughness of knives every. Single. Day. And to you who say "why would you abuse a randall"...well a knife is a knife. I can think of many members on here who 'beat the hell' out of much more expensive knives.

To op, yes, you should know that Randalls have been tested in war manyvtimes. They were built to be used, not collected and looked at. The collectibility is simply the side effect of being a world renowned company.
They are not Busse, and I'll admit I wouldn't hammer one through a cinder block. However, they have most likely been abused in every other way imaginable on the front lines and I imagine one could handle anything short of stupid that you do to it.

Read the post 2 up from yours by Final Option. If that doesn't constitute hard use, you're on your own then Jack Bauer.

The 14 in this pic hacked through this poplar log and still cleanly shaved arm hair after. It has the stainless blade.

Myself and most likely others are wondering if you personally own or have exorcised any knives? Seriously?
