A is for Ambassador advertising knife
"El Taxco" (pronounce the "x" like "s") was a Mexican restaurant owned by my great aunt and uncle located across the street from my house. I lived at 1115 1/2 Agnes, my grandmother at 1113, and her three sisters (including the restaurant owner) at 1111. It was the best Mexican food I've ever had, and I've had a lot. I think my aunt, who sometimes babysat me, fed me enchiladas from the restaurant before I could walk.
The other side of the knife advertised another business they owned: "La Fiesta":
I think it was a club downtown. I don't remember it. The knife is probably from the 1950s. ("C. C." stands for "Corpus Christi".)
