Photos How Well Do We Know Our ABC's? (Traditional Version)

@easternknives , I can't help but notice that when you first posted to this thread you had a single-digit post count after ten years. But have since put some awesome knives on display for all of us! I don't know if it was this thread specifically that coaxed you out of hibernation but I'm surely glad if it did. Thank you for sharing. :)

Excellent English jacks!
This thread is a tour de force!

Look what you started Eli ;)

Michael

Everyone has been so generous in sharing their offerings - regardless of age, value, rarity... Just partaking and sharing and I've been totally thrilled.

I don't know what it takes to qualify as sticky material but it would be shame if this thread disappeared.

Dave, is there a breathing risk to working with sheds?

Yeah it gets pretty dusty either cutting or sanding any antler not just elk. Everything gets covered. Looks like its been snowing sometimes. Ya know that pic is a few years old. I still haven't cut that set up. They are too magnificent, and a match set. They live on top of the gun safe in the shop. gotta figure out what I'm gonna do with them.

Maybe the Los Angeles smog was creeping over the pass... :D

Ya know Col Baker planted a field of a few acres to alfalfa for weary travelers to use to feed their stock back in the day. It became a thing. Folks would say Ya gonna stop at Baker's field? All our air gunk up here comes from Bakersfield.

Eli, you don't have to worry about this (or ANY) thread disappearing. :):thumbsup: Threads going back to "time immemorial" are still out there, buried many pages deep, but if you know the title of a thread, you can search this forum for titles only and bring the thread up. This thread should be easy to find by searching titles only for "ABC's". (Surprisingly, searching for just "ABC" did NOT work.)

And, as long as I have your attention, Eli, was your intent that the "letter of the day" should show up as the first letter of a word that's a major descriptor of the knife posted? On "E-day", would you frown on me if I posted any knife at all and simply captioned it "E is for Knife"?:( I'm thinking about the future, and I may have trouble with some letters if I have to stick to first letters.

Thank you sir.

And yes, I was thinking the first letter. For example a Black Canvas Case Large Stockman could be used for B, C, L or S but it wouldn't seem right to use it for say E (CasE). Just thought it would be fun to see how many letters we can all fill out off the descriptions.
