how well would this work out for camp use?

That thing looks BEEFY!! Nice work Richard.

Ya know Brian, I hear there's a bigger one in the works.:D

Yeah, chopper envy! :D

This thing is a BEAST and it is beyond scary sharp! I have no hair on my arm after a couple passes. Thanks again, Richard, and thanks Gene as well!

I'll post a full review, but it's been chewing through black oak and sugar maple like they are nothing!

One unintended use was this: last night, some dude came onto the porch of my house and was asking if anyone was home, anybody up. I never saw him before, so I got out of bed, grabbed my trusty Richard J-Cleaver and proceeded to open the door and very directly confront him with a big "WTF?!" He was a little guy and with my wild bedhead and aggression, not to mention a chopper in my hand that is straight out of the movie "Psycho," the guy backed into a pillar on the porch, stumbled down the stairs and ran for his life. It was only after that that I realized what I must have looked like...

Turned out he was the ex-boyfriend of a previous house tenant who had been kicked out by her, and was probably thinking she is still here. He's harmless, and I have a feeling now he won't be back...:D

Bro, your too funny:D I wish I saw the look on that dudes face:thumbup:

Ok,

Time for a price and a deposit list. ;)

Have you thought about adding a lanyard hole? Or maybe just more of a hook at the end of the handle. Like Gerry's "axe handle".

i thought about putting a lanyard hole in the handle but i wasted 2 cobalt coated bits just to drill the 2 pin holes which i had to enlarge with a carbide drill. any future ones will have a 1/4" lanyard hole. size will vary since i use scrap to make them and i'm not worrying too much about the finish. i have to get a few more discs cut so i can make some more choppers. the next one i'm putting a long handle on so its more like an axe. the head will be smaller than brians but just as effective and scarry (sharp)

Richard, wow! very cool looking, absolutely beautiful! The way it chops logs and scares of door knockers in the middle of the night is equally impressive!
