How would you handle this eBay shipping damage complaint?

I have been trying to sell a pair of boots on eBay for three weeks, finally they have sold to someone who paid. The first THREE sales ended with the buy it now from people with no transaction history, did they think I would ship the boots without payment!? Point being, eBay is FULL of scammers. I know a couple guys with online businesses who have stopped using eBay because of the overwhelming bias towards the buyer. In some cases, they can really screw you. Me, I've been screwed both ways (teehee) on eBay. Just a risk you have to take, although when I sell axes or hatchets it usually goes smoothly. I can't imagine trying to sell electronics, the amount of shady people that you'd have to deal with.

Hoping you'll update the thread with good news, though.

Take the time to call ebay at least every other day. They have rules that clear you since you offered full refund plus shipping. BUT, the squeaky wheel gets greased. Be NICE, courteous, and professional on the phone. State the obvious - full refund and shipping too. You are in the right here once you offered full refund and shipping costs. You can't do more than that. That negative can be removed but it will take some real work. Probably not worth it.
I had one once a few years back. I missed a deadline shipping a $12.00 kydex sheath when my dad passed away. Buyer claimed he never got it. Built another one, shipped it free AND refunded his other purchase price. Still left a negative. What a dick. I called ebay after the funeral and they even asked me to send a copy of the obituary and death certificate to prove it. Never could get that one off but I did miss my shipping deadline.
