How's the Blur?

Always loved the Blur, especially in Red/Black, but for some reason always ended up with a spydie. How does their 440A stand up again, say, VG-10? Both edge retention as well as corrosion...

Kershaw hasn't used 440A in years. It was 13C26 after the 440A, now it's 14C28N from Sandvik.
They also have a model with S30V and sprint runs of CPM-154, SG2 and now CB technology ZDP-189.
Nothing wrong at all with the VG-10 Spyderco uses. Much better than 440A.
The latest two sprint runs using CPM154 (OD and Orange) might be something to look at in terms of retention and corrosion. On par with VG-10 IMO.

I loose some retention but I keep the pivot screw a little tighter, so it can still wave but won't open up in my pocket.

And that composite Blur looks amazing, when and where will I be able to pick that up, I saw that on the Kershaw page of Facebook. And I was like WANT!

Yep, I try to post the latest and greatest data there as soon as I receive it! Glad to hear that it's working out. :D

Wooow, must have pieces! Orange handle+CPM154, and a CB version...
I see my collection will increase... :D

I am a user of all my knives and have found the Blur to be a less than satisfactory knife. It lasted three weeks in my pocket.

The one I bought has the S30V steel, and like others have said, it was not sharp as compared with other Kershaws I have bought.

The clip, along with the abrasive material on the handle affected how smoothly it went into and out of my pocket. This eased up in time but is still aggressive.

The thumb studs have some aggressive tread on them and I did have the knife open up on me three times while pulling it out. I then changed the clip to carry tip down, but I just don't like carrying it like that, so now it sits on a shelf.

This knife is probably the most disappointing to me from Kershaw, although I love the company and their customer service is second to none. I do feel it is a solid knife and have no objections about its durability.
