Well, I've gotten several Mayo TNTs this year, an Audra Draper that was one of Mastersmith test knives, A Simonich, miscellaneous other makers.

But I have to say, the highlight of this year, and many to come, was when Tom Mayo gave me a knife as a gift at this year's Blade in Atlanta. It was the first folder he ever made.

How's my year been? Good but crappy!

Crappy because I haven't purchased one new knife. Why? Because I haven't had to since that damn Spyderco Native is as perfect a knife for myself as I could imagine.

How could such an inexpensive knife be so good (I say rhetorically)?

Me hemmeroids been acting up... the preperation H isn't as effective as it was last time...

Oh... my year... I thought you wrote my "REAR".

I got a Cold Steel Tomahawk, a dozen Frost Swedish Army utility knives that I'm giving away for christmas, and the CRKT M-16 knife... and a few others not worth mentioning... nothing notable, just accruing inexpensive working tools...

The show was as bad/good (?) as I thought, I am now the proud owner (at least for awhile) of the following:

Boker V Titan
Cuda Maxx
MT LCC D/A (a second one)
Spyderco Ayoob
Weiss blacklip MOP miniture
T. Edwards tactical miniture
Rothermel stag hunter miniture
Some more Howerton skinners
Jim Downs Titanium/Ivory fully filed linerlock
Terzoula engraved titanium linerlock

Will it never end?
Hopefully not...

Just picked up two more J.W. Smith folders;

- Large LS-1 "Eighties"
- Older model (4 to 5 years) with a Marbles Woodcraft style blade....early scimitar to me.

Makes numbers 5 and 6 for the J.W. Smith collection. I didn't get my first one until the latter part of August.

Hey Art,

How ya gonna carry all dem knives ?

Sounds like it's almost time to purchase a Dex-Vest ! :D

I worked the first 6 months of this year, then out of work since june. So I had to take it easy as with last year when the same thing happened over the summer. Still I ended up with the following new knives getting a nice deal in each case...

Taz (Tim Johnson) B&T fixed custom designed by Tim and me.
Eric Chang heavy custom hunter (also fixed)
Wendel Fox B&T fixed custom (at BAKCA)
Hibben pinky-hole skinner (had to try it)
No new folders - I've got 2 Sebenzas from 1998 & 2000!

A little slow compared to other years, but not by much. I did get a couple of other gadgets including...

Inova X5
ARC-AAA
Photon III
T.H.E. Wallet
Hi-tech rain/wind shell ultralite jacket
