Huck / BB13 Comparison

Pretty basic photoshop here, and not quite to scale, but I wanted a side by side view of blade shape. The Huck is slightly longer overall.

My guess is that the Infi BB13 will be a little lighter than the Huck, but it will feel more blade heavy. The Huck should feel a bit more balanced in hand. The BG BB13 should be very light. I'm sure all 3 will be outstanding choppers.

Glad I got both!!! Both are sexy in a different way!!Bottom line is it is a great time to be a Busse Fan!!!

What's going to be the better chopper between the two folks? Somebody call it, I'm going with the BB13 due to the lighter weight

Not just the weight, but the weight-forward balance of the BB13 should make it far superior as a chopper.

Both will be great-Theories are just that-Theories-Until somebody does an actual fair test on all of the Busse's choppers-everything is pure conjecture, Within the coming weeks Busse will release another Large Chopper and it will be the BEST-All of the knives offered will be excellent choppers, opinions will vary, likes and dislikes annotated and discussed, and in the end I will be glad I purchased the ones I have-I already know I have the best-it's a Busse-Cheers

Except in this case in which the BB13 will be better :D

This Tommy guys seems to know what he's talking about ;)

The HUCK with its more pronounced sweet spot will focus more energy on a smaller area and thus bite better into big pieces of wood.
For small 2x4s which will probably be used in a test it shouldn't matter.
If the B13 is more forward balanced it might do better on hard wood.
The handle on the HUCK looks very comfortably big for my hands and a forward bent blade will impact the target before my wrist reaches uncomfortable angles, which matters, but only during longer sessions.

More weight usually bounces less off very hard wood but less weight is less tiring when going after thinner wood.

Some think straight is more intuitive for stabbing, others will like the HUCKs tip better.

And so on.

I'm sure most here could design tests so that either one or the other wins. They are just slightly different tools with slight differences in slightly different use cases.

Common sense is a beautiful thing, Thanks for your input

I agree with the above, kind of. Part of my fascination with guns and knives has been the search and hunt for which one is better for this and which one is better for that. Obviously, better is all relative to the intended task and what's better is very subjective to the individual forming his or her own personal opinion and their experience level using that specific tool or task. I buy Busse because I want the best, I am assuming that applies to most of us here. Sure, the best knife is the one you own or the one you have with you when you need it but generalities about a knifes ability in a specific task are why I like knives, specifically Busse and part of what I've like about this forum is hearing opinions and experiences of others and comparing those to my own thoughts on the subject. Although, just in my short time here over the past 3 years those valuable experiences have tapered and appear less often. I think it's because it's very novel to own a knife labeled the best and be content but I believe there is always someone bigger and badder, one knife will always be better and this gun will always be better for whatever the reason may be for you but I'm here because I have an insatiable appetite to find "the one" and my addiction has to be fed and I was curious of what other's "theories" may be.

All three will be sweet and I will find out in person which is the best performer across the board. :D

Totally agree and well put-My point is simply this, because you like a particular knife does not necessarily make it the best for all applications-When I receive the Basic 13 it may become my favorite Knife, I will not however presume that everybody else has the same needs, likes, and dislikes-and advise people to cancel their previous order on a Huck, ERGO 2 etc, (these are posted on another thread) because I THINK this is one is better suited for me-That's the only message I am trying to convey, especially when the knives being discussed are not even released yet-Thanks again

I don't think anyone should cancel a huck order based on buying the BB13. I plan to get both and if I don't love one or the other, it's off to the exchange. I have a lifelong love for kukris though, and the huck with scratch that itch in a way the BB13 will not.

What makes the 13olo 13 the 13est........The Ever Constant Driving Force the 13asic 13 Support Team Provided to make The 13olo 13 happen. A years worth of Hogs Oinking and makin a fuss got this done. Jerry delivered to a worthy crowd of hungry customers. That Is why Busse is and always will be the 13est Chopping Folks in the business! I couldn't be happier with the 13asic 13 release.....like a dream come true.
That being said.....I love every dang Busse/Kin blade I see and wish I could own several of each. Especially here recently with all the INFI coming out.

It's a win for everyone, those that want it buy it and those that don't save $$$... that's true of every Busse offering. Just don't cry about not getting one later if you choose to pass buy now. ;)

I agree completely. No harm in exchanging ideas and opinions. That's just part of the fun.

Looking at that pic I think the BB13 sweet spot will start about 1-2" ahead of the HUCK's. In use of my ttkz I found the sweet spot is about centered in the belly and not where the white touches the edge in that photo as a result of your arm swinging in an arc with an arced blade. It shall be fun to beat on both of them though. :)

I'm excited for my Huck's and BB13's to arrive. Debating on which of these fine Busse blades is best, is a great problem to have:D
