Yeah, you mentioned the NC/Tenn state line so I figured you'd be familiar with the area. I haven't been down there since '08 or '09 though.
Are you trying to pull the BB13 guys leg or do you mean it?Good job. Now compare that sweet spot location to hand placement on handles and the 1"+ B13 advantage shows up pretty clearly.![]()

Just in case :-D theres is an advantage to the BB13 if you'd grab the HUCK in the very front of its handle and ignore that the belly and mass of the HUCK in front is still more massive.
Thing is, the HUCK has a huge handle on purpose. You could grab it forward for speed due to better counterbalance or more back to increase chopping power. Since we compare chopping power that's how I aligned the pictures. No real options there with the BB13 though a few might try to grab more toward the back but with such a comparativly small handle that seems very unsafe.
We could print the two blades on checkered paper and compare the number of checks left and right of the sweet spots. Or print it on plain paper, cut it out and balance it on a needle point or measure different section on a scale to get an idea.
Might get my 7 and 4 year old to do a little project.

Have you used a basic handle? I choke back on mine often for chopping where only my first two fingers & thumb are on the back of the handle, similar to choking back on a fusion or ash handle, with no issues.
I don't actually do any chopping. I just pose with my knives.
I couldn't stand my own sarcasm any more. I live in the Texas hill country which is being taken over by Ashe Juniper, known locally as "cedar". Since we have been suppressing the necessary wild fires, it has been forming large stands called cedar breaks that are super thick, almost impenetrable, and severely reduce species diversity while sucking up all the groundwater. I have two acres of it, plus many friends with land who allow me to come get busy chopping it down. It is considered a public service to cut down anything less than 6 inches in diameter, which should have been killed by wildfire, if we let them burn like they are supposed to. I know property owners that had never seen water in their creeks or any of the springs this area had been known for until they cleared the cedar, then they had year round water shooting out of the sides of the hill and filling their creeks. I'm really looking forward to getting after those cedars with my BB13 and hognose warsword! That is what I am thinking a lot of people do
Great points all! My question is where do you guys do all your chopping? I have 7 Acres, about 4 and a half that are wooded-so I have some land I can Chop on and Beat on-I am thinking about buying an additional lot which has become available (4 Acres) but have not decided yet-Got to be honest, probably will not beat on the WTF for about 6 months or so because it is so darn pretty!
I will fondle it and admire the workmanship! I do have 2 Huck Fin's on order, so I will beat on one when they arrive, also have a couple BB 13's on order and plan on keeping one in my truck and beating on the other-Thanks for your input-CHOP ON!!!
